Luc Besson once again finds
Milla Jovovich (Joan of Arc) intent on saving her world, France. As a 10-year-old, Joan is visited by God for the first time. In her later teens, Joan is a doe-eyed gamine, shouting, shuddering and swinging a broadsword, seeming not quite up to the task. She gets no help from her royal advocates Charles VII (
John Malkovich), and Yolande D'Aragon (
Faye Dunaway), or from her Conscience (
Dustin Hoffman) a spiritual entity who appears to her in her darkest hour.
