School bus driver Kevin McKay (Matthew McConaughey) is divorced, supporting his disabled mother (Kay McCabe McConaughey) and his sullen teenage son (Levi McConaughey).
In order to pick up a group of schoolchildren and their teacher, Mary Ludwig (America Ferrera), Kevin reroutes through back roads on a white-knucke ride as wildfires rage all around them.
Based on the book Paradise: One Town's Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire by Lizzie Johnson.
