Angèle Barberini (
Ariane Ascaride) reluctantly returns to her childhood home in a small fishing village on France’s Mediterranean coast after her elderly father, Maurice (
Fred Ulysse), suffers a massive stroke.
The two hold unhappy and tragic memories for Angèle, whose young daughter drowned there years earlier while in Maurice's care. However, she reunites with her two brothers, Armand (Gérard Meylan), who is running their father’s modest restaurant business, and Joseph (Jean-Pierre Darroussin), an executive who was forced to take early retirement.
As the three reconnect through their childhood memories and discuss the mistakes they've made since then, they slowly renew the bond they once shared.
