Thrilling and suspenseful.
The dailogue is sooooo cheesy and the action seems forced. The characterisation is wafer thin, if you`ll pardon the pun. Frankly, as much as I like Tom Hanks, it felt like he phoned this one in.
I thought it was a superb movie with a very exciting plot.
excellent 4 stars
This was a a fabulous movie...everyone should watch it!!
It was not as good as the book, but definately worthwhile to go and see.
It wasn`t as good as the book. It dragged on in a few places.
i lovedddddddd it
I thought it was excellent and very well done. I had read the book and thought it amazing - I was worried the movie wouldn`t hold up but it did! Even the second time :)
Very interesting concept and the contriversy doesn`t hurt
It was AMAZING~
Very close to the book, very good acting by Tom Hanks. This movie is more for people who like to think. I have heard alot of bad things about this movie, but I think those people did not see the movie. This movie gets automatic bad reviews just because it questions religion. I think that the movie was very well done. IT was never suppose to be an action movie.
While I`m sure it is not as good as the book (No movie ever is!), it is a good view! The theory that it presents is more interesting then the fictional story of the characters getting caught in the enigma and running around to solve the puzzles. Never the less, it`s worth the admition price. 4/5 stars
Okay, we all know that this movie is supposed to be fiction, unlike The Passion of Christ or Life of Brian, but if you want to see a good "what if" drama I would reccomend The Da Vinci Code. It`s been a couple of years since I read the book but Ron Howard did such a great job of capturing the essence of Dan Brown`s novel that during many scenes I felt as if he had pulled them from pictures in my mind. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
ok
It is most often difficult to translate a book such as Dan Brown`s into a screenplay that captures the salient features, develops the characters and keeps the audience "in the know". I read DVC twice and I learned 3 things from this movie;a) I`m seeing it again, b) I`m reading it again and c) I`m buying it when it is available. This is a masterpiece of weaving history, religion, faith and our ability to be open to reason and options. Nothing is definitively stated and much left to the intelligent mind. We were both so thrilled with this film that time flew. A++++ A word of caution...if you go to the movies to just be mindlessly entertain
the book is way better!
i enjoyed it...i think that the violence could have been a little less.. but it is possible and lets you draw your own conclusions.
I found the movie to be quite entertaining and engaging not as bad as some critics said. I didn`t mind the shortcuts, but loved the occasional weaving of historical events into the story. Expectations were raised so high about this movie that it would have been impossible to meet them, especially since the book was absolutely engrossing. Loved seeing the various historical places, icons, etc. Seeing these places through different eyes this time, and would love to go again.
I did not read the book first so I have nothing to comparty the movie to other then the movie itself and it was not at all boring. In fact I enjoyed the movie very much and it has made me want to read the book.
AMAZING movie...I havent read the book so I guess I have nothing to compare it to, but thats wut made it so good!!! If you havent read the book, DONT, see the movie first!!!
A bit slow, not much meat in the story.
The book is so much better than the movie, missing a lot of information in the movie. If you didn`t read the book, I don`t you would understand it.
I did not find this movie that bad, just about 30min too long.
I was very much looking forward to this movie as the book was so fantastically written and I was sadly disappointed to have it end. However the movie had quite the opposite effect poorly done and I was falling asleep waiting for the end. There were parts that were ok,good even, but that being said it lacked the energy the book gave the reader and did not keep my attention at all. Some great actors yes !! Right for this movie, not all.Sadly ,dull is the best desciption I have for the movie, the book though was brilliant!!! Now on to Angels and Demons!!!
I don`t see why people are going crazy about reminding us that this is a work of fiction..it`s pretty self-evident...as for the movie being "blasphemous", if anything it bent over backwards to say that the "Roayl Blood" theory was only a theory, and points out that no matter the TRUTH, the real value is the faith it inspires....the TRULY faithful do not need to fear this book or movie
It was the sequal to movie National Treasure, and as most sequals it was not as good. I can`t say I was wowed or my religious views changed in any ways. Wait for the DVD and watch it then.
Not even close to as good as the book. Tom Hanks is a phenomenal actor, but really blew it in this movie. He was really dull and did not play the character well at all. Worth seeing if you enjoyed the book, but wait until it comes out on video. There`s not enough action to warrant seeing it on the big screen.
Tom Hanks was not the right Langdon. Geoffrey Rush or perhaps another. Hanks was all wrong . The scenary was nice but than again how can you go wrong in Paris. The movie was slow in certain parts.
it was exactly as I read it in the book. Great movie and a great story.
JUST READ THE BOOK! much more details that will excite you all non believers...
I have been waiting for this movie to come out with much anticipation and fear. Anticipation because I had thoroughly enjoyed the book and fear that the movie would not do justice to the book. The wait was well worth it. The actors were excellent and did not try to overdo the characters created by Dan Brown; and there was much beauty in the photography and in the art and history displayed. Needless to say, I absolutely loved the movie. As to religious beliefs, only those who lack absolute conviction in what they believe will feel threatened. It`s a pity - so rarely does one come across a book (and movie) that has the ability to stimulat
I thoroughly enjoyed the book as it was a good little yarn and an easy read. The best thing about this movie is Ian McKellen. Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou are flat at best. I found the movie dull. Paul Bettany`s talent is totally wasted. Don`t waste your money.
They did some things really well, like combining ideas to emerse you into the plot. I went with someone who hadn`t read the book so there were a few confusing things for him but mostly he liked it. Overall an ejoyable treasure hunt movie but I`m sorry they felt the need to change a few important details that took some of the emotion out of it for me.
I really liked it. I haven`t read the book yet but have watched several history channel and discovery channel programs explaining the different concepts of the book. This helped me keep up with the fast pace and different names of groups etc. Excellent movie and well acted by everyone. Thanks
it was an exciting movie, kept you on your toes all night, although the book was 100 times better.
They shouldn`t have used such a known actor for such a movie.
not quite indiana jones and the last crusade. but sitll an enjoyable movie
After all the hype I expected to be disappointed, but I thoroughly enjoyed this film. I`d had my doubts so much content could translate to the screen but it did so quite well. It was fast paced and entertaining.
I very much enjoyed the movie. Oh how many truths did they speak!!
This was a waste of my money and my time. I read the book and didn`t think it was all that great even for a fiction. Movie... well it was a lot worse than the book if that is even possible. Worst movie of the year!
Better than the book, which I found disappointing. Exceptionally well acted by all the leads, and best movie I`ve seen directed by Ron Howard, of whom I am not generally an enthusiastic fan. What`s all the fuss, anyway?
Yo yo was up homies it was a greatzzz moviee and tom hanks was so gangster. Davinci is cool. Peace out Tuk tuk
Great movie. Tom Hanks acted amazing! All you who think Tom Hanks did bad, do not know how to judge good acting...he did amazing. he is currently one of the best actors today.
No need for all that hipe?
Did not read the book but found the movie well done!
This movie was done extremely well, and for the most part, stayed true to the book. If you have never read the book, you may find the movie boring and/or hard to follow. Overall, a great movie that had me on the edge of my seat. You should read the book first!
I tried to not get caught up in the hype for the movie, but found myself disappointed with Ron Howard`s directing. The book was great - but the interpretation and rendition left a lot to be desired.
The book was OK, the movie was really good, my wife thought it was better than Brokeback Mountain; it is certainly better than most movies. It has enough action and thought provoking ideas to keep you entertained for 2 and a half hours.
Very true to the book, and very fast paced. I didnt even have time to dwell on my deep rooted hatred of Tom Hanks.
