On the DARK side, not for kids. Too much action and weak plot. Acting O.K. --3 hours long.
There are a lot of hidden messages that reveals the evil in the world today. And, evil doesn't discriminate. It attracts the rich and powerful, Law enforcers, orphans, the poor, mentally ill ect...With a deadly motive to destroy those who are standing up for truth. Well, you know that truth is stubborn and always find a way to come forth & sometimes it comes from a source you least expect. At the end of the day the truth will always out shine a lie... Kudos to Batman and the crew 👏 An awesome job!!!!
Giving this movie 5 starts b/c it really focused on a psychopath who lives in a cave, had many issues (although he was wealthy) and was afraid to truly love himself, and even a beautiful woman who had many issues like him. Match made in heaven and this man chose saving a crooked, torn down, worn down, dark city over Cat! Sounds like all theDr confused non cat men in this backwards, evil dark world we live in now.Women learn from this movie! Lots of hidden messages on the men you are dating. Thanks writers for revealing the truth in this movie. Now, stop right now! No more Batman movies! His character is cute, but goofy! Grown, old man hiding behind a bat suit, trying to fix a world, when he can't fix himself!
This movie is set up like a film noir. It's possibly the best Batman film in the franchise, offering a mystery in small doses, keeping the gritty feel of the comic, and showing a truer, rawer version of Batman and one of his iconic nemeses. Pattinson's portrayal was spot-on. Anytime one saw Bruce Wayne, he was a shell. Batman was his true self, and it reflected in his approach. At times, it was difficult to remember who was behind the mask, though the expression of the actor through the eyes was spot on. An immature filmgoer might crave in-your-face action and easy-to-guess plot, but this film isn't necessarily for that kind of moviegoer. It's kind of like wasting a steak on someone only capable of tasting all beef as hamburger. The Batman requires at least a bit of comprehension about the layers of plotlines and the convergence of character study. Anyone who seeks the campy 80's half-comedy or the congested brooding of the 90's versions of the character will be lost, and the film will only frustrate them. There are no heroes here, no innocents, and only a breath of redemption. I'm looking forward to where the director and writers take this story.
The movie was generalized very well, Great acting, the psychopath amazingly well done. Great concept, the riddles just kept everyone intrigued. First Batman movie I've seen on big screen, would attend a sequence. Great job to the cast and writer.
No imagination woke tainted drivel. Let’s take out these white privilege a-holes. All Batman did was stand around and brood. Penguin was kind of cool. Riddler was a rip off of the Zodiak Killer. Cat woman was a complete rip off of Halle Berry. I was falling asleep at the end Every time I thought the movie was going to end, it just kept going and going and going and going…To sum it up, this movie sucked…
I really liked it, maybe not the best Batman movie, but there was a lot going on that kept you thinking when there wasn't action scenes. It didn't really seem like 3 hours long to me. Spoiler, DON'T sit thru the credits :(
Different, but good. This one might have worked even better if less had happened.
The Heroic Spirit of Batman’s character has long since disappeared from the movies. I dislike Batman’s entire character. He has become a pessimist, with dark thoughts, a ticking bomb. Batman is no longer redeems goodness. And Batman is sooo under appreciated!!!
Catwoman was so pretty I'd see it again.
At least Batman Forever had a song by U2; there's a tuneless pop song repeated throughout The Batman that makes the extended runtime even harder to endure. I thought the Twilight guy did a good job, though.
Don't go see this if you are depressed because you may want to go jump off a bridge after you see this dark, depressing, film. No real music worth mentioning...was there even a music director? The dialogue consisted of mumbled simple sentences that the sound engineer didn't even attempt to clear. And OMG three hours wasted, I kept thinking it would get better. Nope.
Rob shines as Batman, sulks as Bruce Wayne (although that is a part of his origin story). Kravitz, Dano, and Farrell all do solid work. Has easily one of the best action sequences in DC history (although overall this is a long Batman movie with few action sequences). Fantastic visuals and the mood is spot on for Gotham. A+
it was very confusing and hard to understand because i haven’t watched the other movies but batman is hot and that was the only good part
Even the daytime scenes were so dark. It was difficult to watch this movie and know what was happening as everything was so dark.. I gave up half way through.
Nice try, guys, REALLY nice try, but the Batman I grew up with would NEVER be seen in Gotham wearing such a ridiculous getup! MY Batman is the Batman of West, Keaton, Bale, and Affleck! Nice try, guys, but "nice" doesn't earn you a seat at the table in the Hall of Justice!!!!

I haven’t been to the movies in a while, so coming back to watch this movie was great! Had a great night; the theater was beautiful and the staff were friendly. The movie was amazing. I love the riddles and where the movie lead to unexpected plots. I think Robert Pattinson did a fantastic job and so did the lady who played cat woman. I can’t wait to see what’s to come next!
This is not a Joel Schumacher abomination with no story and a bunch of nonsense action. This a dark movie that is not really for kids, and has a strong focus on Batman's ability to solve crime as "The world's greatest detective". But as a result it is seemingly a bit long and slow as it is not full of nonsense action. If you can get into the Joker movie, you should be able to get into this movie, as they are roughly the same type of movie..
The jet black tone is consistently unsettling, and the flashy, explosive action scenes are some of the best of the series. Even so, it's the romance at the heart of the movie that most will remember, played to impressive perfection by Affleck and Gadot. A great night out at the movies!
This movie is something Batman's never been: BORING.
I loved this, don't know why all the bad reviews! Lots of action non stop...not for young kids though!
its a amazing movie, but its to long and everything happens so fast, you cant even process whats happening half the time. even though it has some bad sides it also has a good side. The plot is good, good villain, And nice ending. The fight scenes are amazing as well. This movie is not for kids, they would not understand it and i think its a little dark for children.
It may be emblematic of too-high expectations, but a lot of people are being wayyy too hard on this movie. It IS a bit long and it takes its time getting going, but the sheer scope of the film is enormous and completely enveloping. The performers are largely convincing as well. While Kravitz proves no match for Halle Berry's Catwoman, Dano dazzles as the best movie Riddler since Jim Carrey, and Pattinson's Batman recalls Bela Lugosi at his campy best. Highly recommended for those in search of a cinematic escape!
One thrill after another. So many AHA moments, especially when you see the Batmobile for the first time. Music score and acting superb. This is not a movie for little kids. It shows how Batman is trying to comprehend what he is and what he is not. Pt
3 hours in a quiet movie theater. Devoid of any real action except a few quick alley fights. Whole family got bored half way and we struggled to finish the movie. Franchise has jumped the shark.
Checks all the boxes -- woke and otherwise -- of a standard comic book adaptation. It's fine, I suppose.
Best Batman movie yet!!! An actual thriller!!!
Children should NOT be seeing this movie, but if they are, they're entitled to review it just like everyone else.
I see the children are trying to review bomb this movie. So many fake and inaccurate reviews on here. The movie is really good, very little that wasn't excellent.
I liked it a lot
A dark movie. Definitely wouldn’t call this a “great” movie. Was very long with many scenes that could’ve been omitted. My attention would fade in and out, especially during the slow scenes. Zoe did a great job but overall, the movie was quite disappointing
I'm guessing there's a nerd out there who is constantly submitting one star reviews because the movie doesn't have a vapid, cgi Marvel movie plot to it,
I liked the rainy, moody atmosphere akin to the movie The Crow. I thought Pattinson was a good Batman. Plot was okay, not bad but not great either, and you have to constantly pay attention to what is going on to follow the plot. I don't know why it is getting such bad ratings as it kind of reminds me of the Joker movie, which everybody seemed to love for some reason.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't deeply disappointed with this movie.
This is the darker batman seen in episodes in the comic books. The producer does respect batman fans in this movie and all all adult batman fans will like this movie. Great cinematography.
I knew this wasn't a true Batman movie the second the Caped Crusader slugged Commissioner Gordon. Batman is supposed to respect his elders, Gordon and Alfred most of all, but both are treated like crap in this version. Maybe the writers felt a respectful Batman was outdated in 2022, but it's a vital component of the character and missing completely here.
For die hard Batman fans, this movie is IT. For those that have never read the comic books or don't know what Batman is about, some parts may come across as boring and the film a bit long.
EVERYTHING! A true Batman fan(not just movies, but comics as well) should have no issues with this movie!
Robert Pattinson is best portrayal so far, thought he was a great young Batman and Bruce Wayne. Loved the score and cinematography.
Real batman people know that he isn't all about beating people. It's about how he figures things out. It's a thinking movie
It's long but it's a thinking movie with some cool action scenes and amazing sound
Just like Batman & Robin, it's wayyy too long for kids to sit through without getting antsy. More action, less talk, would help, too.
This is easily the best Batman movie in my eyes. It is in no way a kids movie though
It's a very good movie it should be rated R tho I don't think it's a batman movie that kids should see
Let's just hope there isn't an extended cut...
This is not the character Bob Kane created. Depressing to see how far this series has fallen.
This kept my attention in spades! I always love Jeffrey Wright in anything and Colin Farell should win an acting award. A great detective story which is more for the thinking movie goer.
I didn't think it was that bad, but it wasn't that good, either.
Pattinson was great in the Twilight and Potter films, but here he's out of his league. And yes, the "Pat Suit," as it's come to be known, is embarrassing - an absolute disaster! Maybe next time, Bat fans...
