Marvin (Schneider), a police file clerk, dreams of becoming a real officer like his father. One night, while left alone at the precinct, he answers a 911 call and, as a result, is nearly killed in a car accident. Rescued by the eccentric Dr. Wilder (Caton), Marvin's life is saved after his organs are replaced with those of several different animals.
Marvin returns to the station with no knowledge of the operation or the doctor who saved him. Soon enough, strange talents start to emerge, which help him crack a case, making him a hero and a full-fledged officer.
But life becomes ever more complicated when he falls for an ex-tree hugger and animal shelter volunteer, Rianna (Haskell). As his animal instincts start to take over, he becomes more unpredictable by the minute.
