A Ghanaian woman working as a TV journalist in Britain returns to her homeland to make a documentary about Werner Herzog's filming of Cobra Verde in this provocative, metaphorical drama that explores the lasting psychological effects of political coups on innocent people.
It will be her first time back in over two decades and while filming, the woman begins seeking out former friends, and wrestling with some haunting memories.
Many of these memories center on a single fateful day when soldiers burst into the office where she and her friends used to work. A series of flashbacks occurs and each one is presented from a different perspective until the whole truth is revealed.
