Ibrahim (Ali Ebdali) has left his village and family to try his luck in Tehran. He walks through the streets of the big city begging with a newborn baby. He says he's a widower and needs money to look after his child, but it soon becomes clear that the baby is not his, it's a stolen baby that he has rented.

Meanwhile, he shares a room with two friends, Fatah and Madjid, and is waiting for his pregnant wife to join him. Soon, Ibrahim becomes implicated in the trafficking of new-born babies, and the three men are forced to go deep into the underbelly of the city, known as Tehroun, where their dream turns rapidly into a living nightmare.
