The true story of the romance between writers Sylvia Plath (Paltrow) and Ted Hughes (Craig). Plath received a scholarship and traveled to England to attend Cambridge, where she met Hughes, a budding young British poet. They were married in 1956 and had two children.
Plath’s first book was published in 1960, but her marriage was breaking down and the couple separated after Hughes cheated on her. Depressed, living in a small London apartment with two small children to raise on very little money, Plath committed suicide at the age of 30 by sticking her head in an unlit oven.
