It's the 1970s and Delphine (Izïa Higelin), a 20-year-old farm girl in France, is faced with a problem. Her parents expect her to marry a local boy who, to them, seems to be a perfect match for her. Delphine, however, is a lesbian. Shirking her parents' traditional wishes, Delphine leaves the countryside and sets up in Paris.
Not long after her arrival in the big city, she finds herself attracted to Carole (Cécile de France), the leader of a feminist group. Delphine's affections are returned and the two enter into a blissful relationship.
Unfortunately, Delphine's new life is interrupted when her father falls sick and she must return to the farm. It's up to Carole to decide whether to follow Delphine or stay in Paris.
