The movie was lame. Don't waste your time. Go watch one of his old concert videos instead.

Like many comments here, I was hoping to hear some music. It was so limited and way too dark and brooding. I guess that was the point but it wasn't very engaging. Wouldn't ever want to see it again.

We love Bruce Springsteen's music but we didn't hear too much of it. Also, we would have liked to see how he got into music when he was younger. It seemed like the show jumped from his early life to when he was already successful. We thought there was a gap there.

Save your money. First ten minutes were ok. I fell asleep watching it. So dull

Terrible story line , very low key and a dull setting

Not what I expected...A good story, good acting

A good primer for kids today who've never heard of Bruce Springfield.

The acting was phenomenal!!! the storyline was honest and very personal and showed how even a highly successful musician struggles with insecurities and depression. Kudos to Bruce for sharing!!!!

Great movie about his early life. Would have liked more of his music. Excellent musician!!!

l love that it explored his early career & the pressure that studios put on musicians to do what they think is going to sell.

I am a huge Springsteen fan...hoping to hear about how he started and some good music for Pete's sake. It made me feel pretty down after two hours of following him through his depression instead! Save your money 💰

crap

While most movie goers may expect a big music filled movie, this movie based on the book of the same name, focuses specifically on the time period when his critically acclaimed album Nebraska was written and recorded. A introspective and touching look of a man in crisis and suffering from depression. Beautifully acted by Jeremy Allen White as Bruce. Very strong cast in other roles, too. Oscar worthy performances!

Should have been great, but it’s too narcissistic. Jeremy Allen White is terrific, though.

I still remember the first time I heard Jessie's Girl.

The timing of this movie couldn't be more wrong. Springsteen's politics are completely at odds with mainstream America today. Instead of galvanizing the worker bees to stand up and be counted, The People have chosen to embrace Donald Trump's populist brand of authoritarian rule, making Bruce's more traditional, working man's view of a nation undivided seem dated and old hat. It doesn't help that Springsteen hasn't had a hit in decades, leaving him something of an unknown quantity to contemporary audiences accustomed to autotuned K-pop confections and empty odes to cell phones and women with immense booties. As with his few remaining singer-songwriter brethren, Springsteen belongs to a different age, something the narrative of "Deliver Me From Nowhere" makes abundantly clear...

The movie was long and at times very boring. The portrayal of Springsteen was very one dimensional. He was portrayed as a brooding depressed man who needed professional help but there was very little that revealed the joys and highs of his career and life. I was very disappointed by this movie and I don’t believe that this was an accurate portrayal of the man and the huge impact that Bruce Springsteen has had on music and his loyal fans.

If you have been to his concerts, know his generous and gentle personality, you will love to see this part of his early life. Growing up in NJ, you know and love him! Scenes of the Boardwalk in Asbury Park, Ocean Grove, the beach, the ocean. Acting is amazing, Jeremy's voice mimics Bruce perfectly (Even Bruce says it!)

garbage

Hollywood once again takes the life story of a great artist and turns it into artless mediocrity. Springsteen deserves better, and the lead actor looked NOTHING like him

User review rating: 1 October 25, 2025

The lead actor looks enough like Springfield. The music was OK but sparse. The story was dull. I mean it's about depression so I guess it was supposed to be depressing but who needs it?

Thank God it's over. Would have chosen something else but it's October and full of spooky shows that I won't look at. Bring back summer.

I thought we were going to get more music. It was interesting learning about this aspect of his life, but I went for his music. They should just take a concert available on youtube and play it after the movie. Give me Thunder Road!!!!
