Saw this Film for the fourth time and it gets better and better, To the dialogue to the Animation too the emotional depth, It is an excellent film and it's worth every second of it, Anybody Trashing this movie. Would be the last person I would ever listen to when it comes to a good movie, Knit picking stupid things as their taste. So longs to be desired....... Don't listen to the negative.Opinions as they Have no worthwhile things to say Or have any value Whatsoever
Really well done.
I like the story, I am looking forward to see the rest of the story!
Why is this cartoon for 4 year old's popular ??
I had never seen this first film going into this, but I was not disappointed. The art and graphics were absolutely stunning, and the use of watercolour and comic book style was so amazing. I noticed the art style changed with the tone of the film, when it was sad the film became a runny watercolour, when it was funny and lighthearted it was comic book style. Overall amazing movie.
I f**king LOVE this movie!! I hated the cliffhanger, and I saw my man miles morales. The movie is so damn good and I want to watch it again for a first time!!!
bro it was so GOOD, ppl who said it was bad or sum like that y'all tripping. I rlly enjoyed watching it, Cant wait for the next part to come out, I js know its gonna be good!.
Animation, music, characters, story. All of it perfect. Go see it.
Amazing excellent film.....don't listen to the people that give it a low rating......don't know a good movie if it hit them in the face......good film to the art to the plot to ohh moments, worth it and will see it again
Personally, watching this movie when it first came out in theaters was an awesome experience. The atmosphere truly was amazing. This movie has a lot of fan service to it. However, that's one of the things I don't like about this movie. There was simply too much, and they centered around it for the entire film. The spiderverse storyline has a lot of depth and potential to it, and while I believe it was portrayed decently, it also could have been portrayed better. The writers of this film wrote it in a way that puts more emphasis on the endless spidermans instead of an actual good plot. In short, the writers masked their poorly demonstrated storyline with fan service. Another bad thing about this movie is how unfunny it was. There were like 2 good jokes for the whole thing. The characters and the humor were dumbed down a LOT from the first film. Watching them and their dialogue on screen felt like that of a fan made film. Not to mention that this whole Spiderverse trope has been all you've seen in Spider-Man cinema in the last 5 years, with the exception of Far From Home and the last 2 Venom Movies(post credit scene doesn't count.) Despite the overused story lines, I will say that this movie has outstanding graphics, much expected after watching the first movie. Did it take after the first one? Sorta. But since it's great animation, that does not matter. This movie never lets you rest, and still has me on my toes, waiting for the resolution we all hope for in the next part. While this movie definitely wasn't better than the first one, I will anticipate that the next part will do it justice.
Everyone rating this movie badly obviously didn't see the same movie i did. The animation was INCREDIBLE, there were so many different artstyles and i genuinely would watch this movie 100 times and never get bored, there are so many little details and things to see. Hobie Brown alone, one of the spider-man characters, was comprised of so many different animation styles and little things that could be analyzed endlessly, it was so good. The plot was amazing, the two main antagonists of the movie were *chefs kiss* just FANTASTIC i don't want to spoil it but I could rant (positively) about the antagonist's respective character arcs and theories about how the next movie will unfold. Miles as a character was amazing and it kept true to himself in the first movie while clearly showing how he's grown and him coming into himself as a hero/vigilante, and learning to trust himself and stand up for himself. It's amazing I love it so much. The plot was clearly setting up the next movie yet it was an amazing stand alone movie - plot wise - by itself. Granted, it wouldn't make much sense if you decided to watch Across the Spider-Verse without seeing the first film, Into the Spider-Verse, but you wouldn't watch The Hunger Games: Catching Fire without watching the Hunger Games and expect to understand everything, would you? This review doesn't even give the movie justice there are not enough words in the english language to justly explain how much I adored this movie, but I hope you understand and take a chance and see it anyways. To fully appreciate it, I would highly recommend you watch the first film (Into the Spider-Verse) which is similarly amazing, but it IS possible to be entertained and invested in this movie without that prior experience (my mom has never seen a single spider-man movie or read a single comic until this movie, and she still came out of the theaters super excited with a list of theories about the next movie). TLDR: ITS GOOD
Took my son to see this film, if he wasn't with me I would have walked out. Such a shame of what has happened to many of the comic characters these days. The animation was horrible, perhaps someone high on drugs could relate, and the story well perhaps if a whole new character was made on this it would have made more sense. Writers imaginations have left in this flick. I have never wanted a film to end so quick.
This is coming from someone with a bachelor's in animation- this film is drop dead gorgeous, beautifully written, and hilarious. It's more serious than the first, of course, because Miles is coming into his own as a teenager. If the tone stayed the same as the first, it would've felt more stagnate.
I could not relate to the artistic license taken in this non-stop nonsense. Couldn't wait for the flick to be over! Maybe someone high on crack might have enjoyed the non-existent plot line-not me, and apparently many, many others viewers who wanted their money back when the screen finally, thankfully went dark.
It was funny but intense and the plotline kept you on your toes! The end gave you goosebumps and it was all around a great experience!
It’s good, but the first part was better (and of course, there will be another sequel next year, they need to make money after all!).
Liked that it featured three different characters experiences from 3 different points of view. Didn’t like that it said to be continued. Hopefully there will be a sequel to it.
When will they ever let Spider-Boy become the Spider-Man of the title? Also, Marisa Tomei has been the best part about the last few Spidey movies, yet she doesn't even get a cameo here. And anyway, Tom Hanks will ALWAYS be Spider-Man to me.
Genuinely what's wrong with y'all
Guess I’m agreeing with both sides of the discussion a bit. The beginning is great, picking up where "Into the Spider-Verse" left off, showing us some more background on Gwen while Miles is taking care of the usual business with Spots. Animation throughout the movie is top, five stars so far for the first 60-90 minutes. Then it’s becoming a bit repetitive and redundant, with only a few scenes actually advancing the story, thus dropping to three stars here. Action and fancy animation alone doesn’t make it. While you were waiting for the climax, which doesn‘t seem to come, there is an interesting twist towards the end which leaves you hanging in the air with the "to be continued" sign. Ugh… two stars for the ending. Even with a trilogy, you would expect that each part is reasonably self-contained, but not so here. Well, "Beyond" is scheduled to come in 2024, not sure if I want to see it. Sorry.
I really liked the art style + sound design. Really nice to see that the filmmakers value it, and it accompanies and enhances the story during every part of the film. Don't understand the low rating, but most negative reviews seem to be caused by a poor attention span because this was a true piece of cinema.
It's a true breath of fresh air to see an animated film use their resources to the fullest potential they could within their production time; while knowing a lot of spiderman lore can make things a little more interesting, not knowing the lore won't make this movie go over your head either. A complete, exhilarating, delight for the senses and I plan to watch it a second time. To the one star reviews: y'all just hate having to think and not have everything pointed out to you lol.
Sitting through this movie was more like Chinese torture, drip drip drip continuously throughout the entire movie.
By far this is the best movie I've ever seen. The time and effort put into a work of art like this is insane. Taking them 2-3 years to animate one character shows how much love the crew has for this film, and you can see it. This movie deserves to be seen in a theater if you can. Honesty i found myself enjoying this movie more than the first one. I'm super hyped for the next in the trilogy, as in the end we see some of the characters from the first who will return in the next. Pavitr deserved more screen time though, hes a great character.
It was SO good!! I'm going to see it again tonight with a another friend. It's pretty rare that a movie can get me to spend money to go see it in theaters twice. HEADS UP: To anyone who has any photosensitivity, the opening to the movie, like when they're showing all the companies who made the film, you should avoid completely. And tred carefully with the rest of the movie.
I really enjoyed this movie, maybe not quite as good as the first. Still entertaining and funny. Just wasn't to overly happy with the "to be continued" ending. Its one of those films you gotta watch a couple times to pick up on all the little details. If you like the first film, you should enjoy this one.
I didn’t think anything could top Into the Spider-Verse technical-wise, but I was wrong. There are so many intricate details that are call backs to the original, that you probably need to see the movie more than once, and see Into the SV again for good measure. This movie is a visual graphic novel written for graphic novel enthusiasts; not just for the story, but for the sheer joy of viewing. I honestly thought the time flew by and yes, when it ended on a cliff-hanger I was surprised; I was ok with staying longer. Some people may not like Across the Spider-Verse because it was visually “busy” - but so was Into the Spider-Verse. Some might not “get it” because it’s not a simple story; there’s much at play, and many layers added from the previous film. The movie is a marvel of filmmaking that will be discussed for years in animation classes because of what the storyboard artists and writers and filmmakers were able to accomplish. You don’t want to see this when you’re tired, or distracted, though. There’s far too much going on. Anyway. It’s a great movie; I saw it by myself, and I was not disappointed with any part of it.
It was much too frenetic. Appallingly shallow, even for young audiences. It may appeal to smug imbeciles like the person who wrote the non-review immediately below.
Top tier animation, a lot of plot and the storyline is great! Cant wait for beyond the spiderverse!
Stop blaming it for being loud that’s how a movie is supposed to be so deal with it
Too noisy, the yapping is too much. Family like this make worsen children behaviour. Bad for kids to watch this type of movie. Too liberals patron and filmmakers make country’s kid wired in the wrong way.I felt asleep .
This was such a lame movie I fell asleep - I don't understand why everyone loves it so much
omg omg spiderman its spiderman omg spiderman (im hyperfixated on this movie)
Really boring and nothing gets resolved.
Ugh. This movie was so pandering and seemed more catered to the Scott Pilgram crown than actual comic book fans. I suspect a lot of young people need this kind of movie. Hollywood loves playing on the fears and insecurities of the young.
Hollywood has lost it”s touch. It can’t compete with TV streaming so has to resort to animated Marvel trash that has become old and stale.
amazing!
Pros: Animation was really cool and I like the characters. Cons:Be prepared to sit for 2 hours and 20 min - so not really for kids. I didn't like the story as much as the first - it was kind of all over the place. It ends with a major cliff-hanger, as in nothing got resolved and then you see "To Be Continued". That drives me bonkers. I actually said out loud, "Seriously??" I will still (of course) go to see the sequel - there had BETTER be a sequel - and I love the Spiderverse universe. So even with all those drawbacks (because you may not mind long movies with cliff-hangers), just based on content, I give it a solid 4 stars.
This is a reaaly good movie. A group of 10 of us went and we all truly enjoyed watching.
So far the best one!
Noisy, chaotic, confusing, way too long—and then it ends with “To be continued.” My husband exploded: “Are you kidding me?!?!” It’s a cartoon that reminded me of “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once.” If you liked that movie, you’ll probably like this; we did not like either. (My husband LOVED the last Spider-Man movie in 2018 or whenever it came out; I thought it was okay, but I’m not a huge fan of this type of movie.)
Animation irritating Left early..maybe too soon
Saw this on the 5th and thought it was ok, Miles Morales was great in it, But otherwise it did not live up the hype, Hope Beyond is a lot better!!!!
Just saw this yesterday, thought the 2018 movie was better. I enjoyed seeing Peter B Parker back. Not a bad movie but definitely liked the first one better, though really looking forward to Beyond the Spider Verse next year.
I can't believe they could make such a bad Spider man movie but they did.
To many introductions, too much to follow, I just couldn't get into it, left early.
Made me really dizzy, I had to close my eyes sometimes to keep from throwing up. Lots of lights, flashing, etc. so if you have vertigo, stay away. Also, if you're not a huge Spider-Man fan then a lot of it will go over your head.
Not really a kids movie. More for adults and children who are more advanced.
so many unnecessary conversations, could cut it down to 90 min and finish it in one episode. Now this movie is like a episode of a TV show that drags on and on. My children dont like it and feel it's boring. dont waste your money, wait till its on Netflix
do not like this Spider-man. no action sence
