Truly worth the investment and risk, Sharkwater is a must-see-many-times for animal lovers...specifically for sea creature and shark lovers. The biggest point I took from it was that sharks as the top predator of the ocean keep a balance the ecosystem of the ocean and our earth needs to survive. So why would we continue to harm ourselves by harming them? The photography and cinematography is brilliant, and I was much informed by viewing the film.
Absolutely stunning and inspiring on so many different levels. I am a different man after watching this (5 times!). And I am on a mission to do my part. Thanks Rob! This is a masterpiece for the ages and may very well be what will turn things around. I don\ t care if this sounds cliche: Save the sharks!
it was great, finaly someone is trying to make a difference! I also love sharks and i love what you are doing.
I\ ve always love sharks, when 4 year old girls favored kittens and puppies, my favorite was always the great white shark. I never knew about all the horible things that were happening to sharks everywhere. This movie opened my eyes, and I am now and forever deticated to making a difference. Thank You.
great movie, im really touched and it made me realize many things about the greed and vile of mankind. we need to educate the younger generation about this event, that is the only way to stop it... if its not too late.
when i saw this movie, and i feel fear not about shark but about human. thanks for our great movie and excuse my english.
This movie made me sad and mad at the same time. Very important film, telling all about this film.
i thougt the film and footage was awesome and it opened my eyes to a serious problem. i pushing the movie on everyone i know.
I have to say this is the greatest birthday present I have ever been given. What a powerful movie Rob has put together. I am an 8th grade science teacher in the gulf coast region of Texas and you better believe that my students will be watching this movie to help them see what is going on outside the bubble they live in. Rob demonstrates the never ending passion and determination to reach his goals, if only we all had his nerve. Thanks again for a wonderful documentary
I consider Rob Stewart to be a hero, right up there with Nelson Mandela and others. His daring brave documentary has deeply moved me and others i know. Great movie. It should be mass shown in schools and universities around the world to show people the harm we are doing to these wonderful creatures. Ok maybe its a bit to grahical for schools, but i definatly think this film should be mass screened. Good work on the movie. Great music and imagery.
If people wouln\ t eat shark fins it wouldn¨t be a market for it...so how to work against the market is to get the knowledge out like this DVD do...so people get there eyes open to see that we need to protect the sharks for coming generations.
I just want to extend thanks to Rob for having the courage to tell this story. I have always had an intense fear of sharks (completely unfounded)and this movie opened my eyes to the plight of sharks and their role in our world. I was horrified and terribly saddened by the ruthless treatment and killing of these beautiful and elegant creatures. I felt ashamed to be associated with the human race, how can we be so destructive? I hope that this movie speaks to others and moves them as it has me....and that the world will come together to afford protection to these animals before it is too late. Way to go Rob, thank you!
I share the sentiments of so many people who have signed these pages. The film has left me feeling very saddened that this happens in our world and that somehow it has been allowed to continue. The film has deeply effected me but thank you so much for opening my eyes to this devestating reality. Let love fill our hearts, not greed and money. We can all live on this planet in such harmony, so why dont we
Humans are looking for dinosaur fosil and killing sharks, thats messed up. Its sad to see these perfect creatures beeing slaughtered, without boats and equipment this would never be possible. Great job with the movie though, thumbs up for you guys.
thanks for this documentary. I love sharks , but I didn\ t know what the human being does to this beautiful animal. Where are all concern!!
look i dont no if any one will read this but i saw a documentery on sharkwater and it changed my life and im so glad it did , maby now i can help make a diff with every one else , thank you
What a truly awe inspiring movie. I was totally moved but angered at how man can do this to harmless creatures for a bowl of tasteless soup. The governments of the world should stand up to the slaughter and protect our last few remaining sharks out there. I would recommend that every human being possible watch this movie. I can\ t believe how money corrupts many people who don\ t give a second thought to the consequences. We Need To Do More To Stop The Extinction of One of The Oldest Surviving creatures of our Planet. PLEASE WATCH AND TAKE ACTION!!!
This is a story that needed to be told!! Thank you Rob!
Amazing film, I almost cried but I seldom cry so yeah, I also couldn\ t finish watching it because we had to go home, so I only watched half, btu I bet if I watched the whole thing, I would cry. I now officially hate sharks fin soup. Once again, amazing film.
fantastic move!!! it has left me feeling so sad and so so so mad!! I cannot believe that there are millions of sharks slaughtered just so some rich C*!T\ s can have some soup!! i only hope they dont know what they are causing, if they do know we should rip there arms and legg\ s off and through them in the ocean. i have dived with many sharks (in a tank :-)..) and i loved it, they are amazing animals and should be protected
A truly moving documentary... this is as good as any movie/documentary can get. 6 out of 5 stars
this movie blows. it's terrible, stay away from it!
I am extremely impressed by this movie... sharks is another like man..
This film was moving and emotional and depressing and terrifying. It terrifies me that mankind can be so heartless and greedy and short sighted. I saw the film weeks ago and I still can not stop thinking about it. Those amazing creatures that have been on earth since the dawn of time just being slaughtered that way is just as terrible as any genocide. It breaks my heart. It needs to stop before it is too late. As it said in the movie, big changes are made by incredible individuals. Thank you for this film you are one of these individuals.
The film is absolutely incredible. I am a passionate conservational biologist and I share the same views as Stewart. Sharks are extremely important in the maintainance of foodchains and hence the marine ecosystem. Hopefully this film will inspire many to avoid sharks fin, and perhaps to even make them persuade the government of their countries to ensure that an appropriate ban is placed against the trade of shark\ s fin. Thank you, Rob, for this incredibly inspiring and heart racing film. I love it!!!
an absolutely wonderful film that had me in tears for the whole thing. I cant believe this is happening and that were letting it happen in this day and age when were so worried about the environment and every other animal except for these amazing creatures that we wont be able to live without. This is such an inspirational movie and i will spread the word and i cant wait to go and swim with these magical creatures of the ocean. Rob Stewart this is amazing thankyou so much for making this film.
FANTASTIC!!
Absolutely fantastic film! I too am fascinated by sharks and am an avid scuba diver. The first time I saw a shark whilst diving I was mesmorised - what a beautiful, awesome creature that commands respect! I had heard about the sharkfin trade but had no idea of just how serious a problem it was across the world. This movie has to be promoted and seen worldwide by all responsible governments! - it is absolutely disgusting what is happening to sharks across the globe. Rob Stewart, this film is genius!!
I watched the film lastnight, I was amazed. Beautiful shots of the sharks and devastating shots of what we do to them for money. Thank you for making this film.
this was an amazing film, but so disheartning to see the truth made me very angry to think that this is alowed to go on legaly, soon we will be killing more humans for money, when will we stop!!!! thanks for getting the cold hard truth out there
These are the kinds of films that should be shown in all schools--to show the truth from the beginning. This movie has changed my life. We cannot continue to destroy our earth and our oceans, and inflict such suffering on its species. I am nowdedicated to helping spread the word!
I have put my review on a local website to share my feeling with my friends and hope more people will join the act. Just love the film.
A truly inspirational documentary on sharks! The word needs to be spread and action taken to protect sharks. I am a teacher and will start getting the word out about sharks to my students this fall!
This movie made me cry. Stunning cinema.
We kill Sharks more than the Shark kill us....Stop killing them...
I have seen the movie and im so angry how mankind can do something like that. If we dont do anything about this, mankind doesnt deserve do live. We are destroying our planet evrytime we take a life of a living creature that have lived more then mankind! Evry one should see this movie, its brilliant. I Love it, evry one I meet I say that they should see Sharkwater.
I love this movie, it\ s changed my perspective on sharks and would someday love to interact and see one up close. My friend and i wish to become part of the Sea Shepherd crew when we\ re older and help save the sharks. I will deffinetly try to do something to help save them someday, that will be my goal. Thanks Rob Stewart, you are an amazing and inspirational person that i would love to meet.
I\ m watching Sharkwater for the 8th time now. It is a beautiful message. I\ m a Sea Shepherd- member for over a year now.....I think everybody should. Respect !
A fantastic film not only showing the plight of the shark but what man is doing to the rest of the ocean. The shark has every right to live its one of the oldest surviving creatures around today and it deserves some damn respect.
After i saw the movie sharkwater i nearly cried. So i started a petition to help save the sharks. I have 83 signatures so far i think. I want to do everything in my power to help save the sharks. I hope i have lots of support on the way unlike i do now. Carrie
Well, let\ s do something!
Thank you so much for such a moving and eye opening film. This is an issue that requires more public attention and an educational yet relevant film was just the way to do it. I plan on starting a charity with my school\ s environmental club, thanks to this movie. I have always loved nature, especially sharks, but this really sparked my interest in pursuing a career involving these and other amazing creatures. Thank you.
Having watched Sharkwater I decided to show it to 67 young apprentice divers during the evening of a training course. Whilst watching the documentary with them I realised the impact that Sharkwater had on all of these teenagers. A few tears were shed and a new love was found for something only an hour or so before they feared. With brilliant footage and a truly emotional soundtrack Sharkwater is able to send an important message to those who watch it. Brilliant.
Save thesharks!
I saw the movie in theatres and it really moved me. I didn\ t know anything about the poaching that goes on and it really makes you think twice when you see a shark fin for sale at the grocery store...I think, like any other living being, sharks should be treated \"humanely\", not just because they are a vital part of the ecosystem (affecting even our own survival) but because they are living creatures who can suffer...haven\ t read the book, I\ d like to read it sometime.
I really appreciate for giving me the opportunity to see this movie to know the real situation of sharks and the ocean. So far I have no idea about shark finnings and extinction, but I hope I can do something to improve this situation.
Shark poaching seems like better then trafficking in drugs in some countries, prison free. Far east needs early education on the impact of the future Of their next generation.it is discusting that no one wants to deal with this kind of corruption.$$$$$$$
The book Sharkwater is one of my favorites! The photography is awesome, and it\ s really informative and inspiring. I haven\ t seen the movie yet, but I REALLY want to see it.
I found this documentary a wake up call to how severe we have become in terms of treating sharks. I enjoyed this very much; watching it in class really opened everyone\ s eyes. Thank you very much for showing everyone that is more to reality than the drama that occurs in hollywood\ s glamour and beverly hills.
Thank you for showing the world what the truth looks like!! It was a really beautiful and sad movie. We will tell alla of our friends to go see it. Once again, thank you for an eye-opening experience!!
