Your film is Beautiful, Awe-Inspiring and reassuring- to know that we can make a difference as individuals and small groups. Capture people by their hearts and their brains follow. Clever Weaving. Very smart. Completely overwhelmed in best way possible!

This film was the first one I nearly started to cry about, because I was sad..poor sharks are being finned just for money...I hope that this film will open the eyes of thousands of people to see the beaty of this animals and to see, that they are important animals for the natural balance of the sea.

Watching this changed my life. It made me see the evil in humans, the beauty of the sea. I don´t feel afraid of the water anymore.. =)

Shark Water is an inspirational movie that changed my life forever. Poor sharks getting finned then thrown in the water to fend for themselves. Not only are we killing the sharks were killing ourselves. Just ask yourself this question, \"are the sharks the killers or are we?\"

amazing documentary!

User review rating: 0 January 03, 2009

An amazing and inspiring documentary film! I honestly cannot believe that people are willing to face the risk of a dying species and a changing planet only because of their greed for profit! Well, but that\ s nothing new..

Thank you Bob for the enlightenment about the ocean environment at stake. I wish dearly that the next generations will not only know about sharks in the museums as dry specimens (without fins). Shark fin syndicates might be stopped. The foundation way is to change the mindset of the Asian people not to eat sharkfins which are fundamentally tasteless and mercury tainted. When the demand stops, the supply dies as well.

You are God sent Angel to protect the sharks, thus humans! I salute you for the almighty courage that have kept this mission going. Human beings indeed need to reflect on their own actions. Almost brought me to tears after watching your DVD. I wish you success!

I cannot wait until I enter university to study biology and zoology and I hope one day I will get the chance to meet you. Never stop doing what you are doing and make another film!!!!!!!!

Thank-you for what you and the others took on your shoulders to make this film possible! You made it clear: everybody not supporting the life-saving of sharks is guilty of tolerating their extinction.

User review rating: 0 December 14, 2008

Oh my god. This is the most amazing documentary ever. Its like, you think that sharks are the most dangerous animal on the planet and we are more scared. But then you watch this movie and you think that we\ re their only predator. Keep up the good work, Rob. Its no wonder why this film won more than 31 awards!

Ive done alot of research on people killing great whites. I would very much like it to stop, but have not yet found a way HOW!

I\ ve done a presentation for my module project 2 years ago on shark finning, before this film came out.The film reported facts and info no different from what I had presentated to my class. But the mere fact of someone so passionate illustrating the facts with jaw-dropping underwater scenes and pictures really drew home the truth. Now I feel I am ready to fight for the lives of these charming sharks.Hope to meet you someday, Rob.Grateful thanks.

I just watched this documentary and feel grateful to have watched it. It\ s heartbreaking to see how the sharks and other species in the ocean are being treated with no respect at all by us humans who are supposed to be the intelligent beings and to protect the environment :-( I am encouraging everyone I know to watch this documentary and not to consume any shark fin soup. If only they knew what humans did (and are still doing) to those poor sharks!!

User review rating: 0 December 10, 2008

People are not aware about that human being is destructing our earth eco-system. Some are and they fight to let the all world know these problems. Thanks a lot Rob! I hope this will change some people way of thinking. Whish you all best!

i picked this film up in a video shop not expecting to see it, never heard anything about it. Becasue of my love of sharks i bought it and i was not dissapointed! its so moving and inspiring. brilliant work. i knew alot about sharks as it was but this film really puts all the important fact in your face unlike documentries on animal planet or whatever who just make sharks out to be killers. This film has made me want to do something to help the sharks that are being killed, life changing film

This is the kind of movie Hollywood should start doing. It´s just amazing! So awakening, interesting, I watch it two times in the same day. Hope one day I have the privilege of meeting you and with some luck dive with you. I´ll wait for the Sharkwater 2. Best Regards and continue the good work. Alfredo Luís

This is the most disturbing and awakening thing I\ ve ever seen. You are all heroes! For as long as I can remember, I have always been interested in animals, especially those that people fear, including sharks. I know they\ re not as bad as everyone makes them out to be, because of the books I read about them and the fact that a lot of people are scared of pretty much anything that they don\ t know anything about. I\ m a senior in high school who\ s going to pursue a career in wildlife biology. I\ ve made a promise that I will give my life to protect misunderstood animals. SharkWater made me feel very emotional, and it has inspired me more than anything to do all I can to help wildlife.

Really really really nice documentaire about sharks and all other magnificent oceanlife and life globally! This one shows what is going on out there on the oceans and also shows we as humanity must take some serious action to prevent the entire oceans and eventually the entire planet from choking to death... (Nomura-yellies are just the beginning. How ironic... Nations who fish too much are tormented and smited by jellyfish-invasions! Haha!) Sharkwater also confirms the thoughts I have always had about sharks (Ever since I remember I have had a deep love for sharks). THEY ARE THE ARCHITECTS OF PLANET EARTH. THEY PRACTICALLY ARE THE REAL GODS OF ANIMAL-EVOLUTION. THEY WILL BECOME EXT

I\ ve just watched the movie and wanted to thank you guys for trying to wake up the world and face this important problem. The fact that people are doing this to sharks (and other animals for that matter) just to have some soup makes me sick. Even though the movie deals with a unpleasant subject the movie itself is a master piece. The underwater photography is amazing and breathtaking. Thank you for an excellent experience. I wish you all the best in future projects. Thanks

Thank you so much for validating what I have known to be true for as long as I can remember. As a child I created my own scrapbooks about sharks in particular (also whales, dolphin, the ray family, etc). I was obsessed. I didn\ t ever believe creatures that magnificent were the monsters they were portrayed to be. I stand up & applaude your courage, fortitude & down right \"ballsie\" attitude to do what is right. Everything on this earth depends on each other. Same on us..we are supposed to be the \"intelligent species\". That\ s a joke! At least animals understand the order of natural selection.

I\ ve been wanting to see this movie for the longest time, and i was finally able to see it yesterday, i just want everyone to understand that not all costaricans are wanting to kill sharks, there are a few, like me, who wish we could stop this, but unfurtunaly, we have a bad president who thinks that building stadiums and bridges and fixing our streets is better that saving our sharks. This is a big price we are paying for this buildings, that, i believe, if we all fight against it, it can stop. I would rather a poor looking country that a country where people are murduring animals.

I watched this documentary with my mom, she told me it was a amazing movie. We are from Nicaragua, and i believe in you, you are the one who can change the world idea about sharks. i enjoyed you movie, you look like a shark, to me you are the sharkboy. i hope God help you with everything you are doing for animals. one commitment that i learned when i was a chil is don´t kill, that is the reason i never kill any animal.........

This is very moving. I wish you could show this in all the cinemas around the world. Please think about the Dominican Republic when you deside to show this. Thanks for doing this, showing the cruel reality that this poor animals are suffering.

What you did was awesome! Nice photography!, but the message and the experience you transmitted is what is worth. This is a great effort just as Cousteau did few decades ago. But this is just the tip of the Iceberg. If we as humans don\ t make conscious about sharks, marine life, ecosystems, the atmosphere, humans on this planet to be concise, then, all of these will be worthless; and who knows where all this will end. As the Captain said, we seem like a bunch of monkeys out of control...

I was told about this Doc and it took me a while to get the guts up to watch this. There are a few images that I will never be able to get out of my head. This is a devastating problem. I am very disappointed in the Costa Rican Government. They have been known for their great conservation efforts in their country. What I want to know is after the release of this doc what has been done to help this mass murder of pretty much everything in our oceans. I believe my fear of sharks is gone. Thanks you for this compelling doc, I cried more than I ever have over a doc.
