Shakespeare's famed play gets revamped by Simon Godwin, who inserts new violence and comedy into the treasured work. After King Richard exiles Henry of Bolingbroke following a duel, Henry's father Gaunt soon dies from sorrow at his son's banishment.
But while Richard is distracted by a rebellion in Ireland, Henry decides to secretly return to England. With the support of his disgruntled peers, Henry has every intention of regaining his rightful property, but also hopes to seize the crown itself.
