When three thugs abduct a young upper-class couple Carla (Mia Maestro) and Martin (Jean Paul Leroux) fresh off a night of dancing and partying, they are sent on a terrifying overnight journey through Caracas as they wait for Carla's father (Rubén Blades) to hand over $20,000 — a small amount for a rich Caraqueno, but the equivalent of almost five years of the Venezuelan minimum wage.
