A moving testament to a handful of Aryan women, including the aristocratic
Lena (
Katja Riemann), who secured the release of their Jewish husbands, saving them from deportation to the East and certain death. As the story shuttles from present day New York to Berlin (past and present), the story unfolds as one young woman attempts to understand her mother's (Jutta Lampe) seemingly erratic behavior after the death of her beloved husband, and comes to understand the terrible events which shaped her mother's life.
Based on a true story, which occurred in Berlin during 1943.
