I am a huge Bond fan and as far as I'm concerned it was an ok movie but you might as well put a different label on it. It doesn't resemble anything "Bond" to me. What happened to the humor, cool gadgets and all the fun spy stuff Bond used to be about? I know these are supposed to be more realistic but I miss the good old days.
Full of action, and excitement. Daniel Craig is at his best at another bond film. I loved every minute of the film, the adventure, and all the action.A four and a half star. Look for more of my reviews. E.B.A.
ok, but not the greatest movie made.. royal is way better, this is more realistic for a video game.. no wonder why they had the game out before movie.
It was't as bad as people made it, i think viewers were expecting more but good flick.
it was ok i thought it would be better
Amazing movie! I don't understand when people say the story didn't make sense; it was a perfect continuation of Casino Royal. Perhaps not if one is unable to grasp any sort of in-depth story what so ever. All in all an amazing Bond movie that’s taken 007 in a new direction.
This movie is horrible..worst Bond movie I have seen in years...too fast..and blurry...too confusing...I was very disappointed..I would not recommend this movie to anyone.
just because the people that didn't like it can't type, doesn't mean this movie didn't suck, because it in fact did suck. not enough "bond"----2 stars
the beginning was good.... but it later began to drag, to the point where I fell asleep!
I found the movie action packed, but the plot (Was there really one there??) was terrible. I think Daniel Craig's character has become a Jason Bourne clone, without the plot line. I will either rent or buy the DVD, but hopefully the writing (What were you thinking Paul Haggis????) will improve.
Most people agree this film was below average, people will no idea of what a good film is will say this is a fantastic film. Just take a look at other review sites, rotten tomatoes etc. yawn.
It's funny to read the comments of many people here. They view the film(s) as terrible, all the while using terrible grammar, spelling and language. Reviews that slander this film as the "worse Bond ever" (yes that'd a direct quote) should be ignored for the simple fact that the individuals producing them are obviously not old enough to have any idea about the Bond franchise as a whole. This was a good film. It was action heavy and showed Bond as capable of more than just suave fist-a-cuffs. He is now a rival for Bourne who contains grit an guile in a way that Bond never has. The camera works is choppy, the plot was set up (for the most part) in Casino Royale. Was there any need
Not bad for an action movie, if you really like blurry, jerky crashes and flips. Quite disappointing for a Bond film. I thought Casino Royale was a reboot heading in the right direction. They better pick it up in the next installment, or they're going to lose an entire generation of Bond loyalists.
The story line is complete. Follow it through the streets, chases and story telling. Action is very good as well. Well worth the the money for the experience of the big screen.
amazing
okay. not as good as the last one. i was disappointed.
No plot, poorly written, ridiculous special effects
WHERE was the car?The movie wasn't too bad, though. The editing job made it almost like a bunch of teaser clips strung together.Nice action, but VERY lacking in any decent plot.It is known as a "popcorn" movie, but is no worse than "The Living Daylights".This one WILL make money.
Un-real.....super cool!
I am a huge Bond fan, and I have never really been as disappointed as I was after seeing Quantum. It was the worst Bond movie in years, the story made absolutely no sense. Don't get me wrong the action was good, but the plot was terrible and he never even hooked up with a good looking girl like the usual 007. If the movies continue to go in this direction, James Bond has a brutal future.
MI: III, xXx, Bourne Identity and Casino Royale much better, hope next Bond is good
Daniel Craig A+, Bond Girls B+, Plot D-, Villains F, Director C+, Action C-, Locations C-, Length of film C, Overall C+
Excellent film. Daniel Craig moves with a cat-like grace not seen since Sean Connery. I agree there could have been more gadgets - Q seems to have disappeared from the scene. I was also puzzled that the infamous Bond theme music did not appear in full force until the ending credits. I get the sense the producers are trying to shift the 007 franchise away from the death-defying surrealism and sardonic wit that epitomized the series for many years - not realizing that is exactly the recipe that most Bond affectionados are seeking. Still, I love Craig as 007 and Olga Kurylenko is stunning as a Bond girl. There is still more than enough in this film satisfy true 007 fans.
Really worth seeing
Probably a little confusing for some but great movie
lots of actions but not much of a story line, acting was also very bad, The bond girl was "boring". this is the worse James Bond ever. I would wait to see it on DVD.
Have to agree this bond movie was not that great. The intro sucked who comes up with the lame new song? Stick with the clasic James Bond theme that works every time. The action was not that great could improve on it and make it more smoth not so choppy. I hope the next James bond is better than this garbage. Although have to say that I do like the actor that portrays James bond.
I miss the exotic locations, I hope they pick Dubai to shoot next time. I hear they have a real classy 7 star hotel, that would rock, nobody wants to see haiti or desolate regions of the world
Should have brought back the same writer and director of Casino Royale, this one is a dissapointment. Daniel Craig does his job well it's just a horrible script and production.
Daniel is doing his job very well. Problems are the director and the killing. All the action scenes are too close up. People cannot see the actual action and the layout of the scenes. People can only see things breaking. Poorly directed. Secondly, the killings of people are to cruel. Seem to me the killing people without reason. Too bloody.
I wished the editing in the movie wasn't so choppy. Scenes go by so fast, you can barely appreciate them. Also, the ending was a bit abrupt. I think they could have stretched the 105 min movie another 5 minutes so we could see Bond interrogate Vesper's boyfriend. After all, that has been driving him throughout the whole movie. Finally, they go all over the world but the scenery wasn't as photogenic as in Casino Royale. Not as good as Casino Royale but still worth the money.
This isn't supposed to be like all the other James Bond movies now is it? James bond without ridiculous silly gadgets, a man who truly deserves a license to kill as apposed to brosnan who has a license to comb his hair. Bond is a spy who in a circumstance finds his target does his thing and gets out, assessing the situation and executing. A bond movie that wasn't a joke so all those who say "this is a disgrace" are putting it in the same category as the olds but its its own thing altogether. Story was a bit lost but that was bout all that was wrong with it.
Wow i guess they should have made the movie less realistic and bring back all of the elements that made the older Bond movies so dull. The Movie was good, the fight scenes were great, and it felt more like an espionage flick rather than a pretty boy blowing stuff up with chewing gum, and a swiss army knife/rocket launcher. The camera work was more rugged and made to feel as though you are part of the action, although i think that the effect will be lost on the more simple folk that these Bond movies tend to appeal to. Overall good movie, Daniel Craig is the best Bond to date, sorry Mr. Connery.
very good movie
The movie contianed all the action packed scenes you would enjoy, and the re-introduction of the crime sydicate Quantum (formally Spector)refreshs original bond polt adapted for the modern age fan!
James Bond is a spy right? What happened to all of his gadgets?...All of the action sequences were shot with the cameraman sitting on a jackhammer-so blurry you could only see the slow parts of the film, when Daniel Craig is standing still.Don't even get me started about the villains......D.C. is still an excellent actor, and a fitting James Bond however the entire film fell short. I have to wonder what the director was thinking at times.....
no gadgets , drives a ford pickup, thats the best car,
Dissapointing I was expecting much more action this movie was so boring in part I found myself wishing it would just be over so I could get out of this crappy seat.
Daniel Craig has done an excellent job in this movie , i did'nt feel he needed to shake or stir anything, it was fine the way it is. I saw the movie and i loved it. Every one is entitled to their own opinion and my opinion says "two thumbs way up", and another thing people wondered why he didnt get more women into his bed, (just 1) well, we are living in an age of spiralling numbers of people infected with HIV AND EVERY THING ELSE, 007 needs to quit with the whoring around. And to end my rant GO SEE IT.
This movie needs a better intro, cars, gadgets, suspense, music, direction, plot, lines, humour, villains, less M, gambling, less cia, longer film, better editing, product placements, go take a look at what made casino royale good and stop trying to make a artistic wannabe bourne film. Don't mess with a tried and proven formula, Ian flemming would not be happy! C-
All round serviceable Bond flick. Ups the ante on the action this time around, but sacrifices quite a bit on plot and character development. Couldn't they have added on 10 or 15 more minutes to flesh out the story a bit more.
Just Awful.
I am a dedicated Bond fan and have to say that this movie is honestly the worst in the series.Daniel Craig was great as usual, however the camera bounces all over the place.I don't even know what happened in the first 10 minutes. The camera was WAY too shaky.
Bond has lost its luster and now like anyother action movie: The Bourne Identity was a better action movie
No Gadgets. No Miss Money Penny. No one liners. All serious, no sense of humour, no megalomaniac. Zero fun. Fell asleep watching it. Terrible movie. Bring back Brosnan.
It was not bad action and I really liked the cast...But it was not the Bond movie.
Loved it! Great Action!
I hesitated to even give it one star. As mentioned already the action scenes were too close, did not continue clearly from Royale, no other detectable story line. Stay with the formula of gadgets, getting the girl, and saving the world!!!
Great movie
if you are a true Bond fan, run! run! don't walk away from this piece of crap. Where are the "gadgets"? In true Bond fashion, where is the race to stop world dominance? I guess that the producers figure if they put a "hunk" in the lead role, all the ladies will flock to it, dragging their partners to it. I thought that the previous (Casino Royale) was bad.....well this one is worse. I own all of the previous Bond movies, but not Mr. Craig's versions. The absolute worst Bond EVER!!!!!
