Pauline (van der Groen) is a sixty-ish woman with the mind of a child. She can't read or write, tie her shoes or spread her bread. Yet Pauline takes
such delight from little things like watering the garden or pasting flowers in her scrapbook.
Pauline's world changes when Martha, the older sister who's been taking care of her, passes away. Pauline would love to live with her sister Paulette
(Petersen), who owns a local shop filled with satins and bows and ah, floral gift wrap that Pauline can put in her book. But Paulette wants to retire
to the coast and send Pauline to stay with their younger sister Cécile in Brussels.
Both Paulette and Cécile love Pauline -- but there is a difference between love and want. Thrown into the mix is Martha's will, which stipulates that
her money only goes to Paulette and Cécile if Pauline lives with one of them.
