After a long train journey, Herve, who's in his fifties, arrives one morning at what appears to be a rustic cottage. It is actually a detoxification center, where this boss of a Paris news agency has enrolled himself voluntarily.
He has come to conquer his alcoholism, away from his wife who doesn't want to see him any longer and his teenage son who is ashamed of him. The first days are the most difficult, as he discovers of the place and meets with the small cohort of residents at the facility. At first alone and determined to remain so, Herve, over the days and discussion sessions, struggles to keep his demons at a distance by opening up to others.
