So many current directors fall in love with some of their scenes, rendering unable to properly move a film along. We are left with films that are unnecessarily too long. One Battle fits this mold. It is too long by at least 30 minutes. There are no real heroes in this film which makes it an interesting cinematic experience. Anderson doesn't really pick sides allowing the viewer to decide who is right and who is wrong. Sean Penn is terrific.

Loved this movie. Not a movie for people who can't pay attention. Are there any Marvel movies in the theaters now? That is a better bet for ADD people.

Slow, confusing, one dimensional portrayals of people and events. Dicaprio badly needs a good movie for his sagging career.

Considering the tension of these political times, kudos to all those who produced & released this movie. I assume that the ratings of this movie, unlike most, will be sharply divided by those that support a particular party.

Action movie, but it has kind of an oddball, intellectual quality. It has all the action scenes you would expect, but the scenes in between are unusual. It took me 10 or 15 minutes to get used to the tone but then I really liked it. There is a silent chase scene that is like Hitchcock.

In One Battle After Another, the political satire strikes with both precision and audacity, transforming a high-octane revenge plot into a kaleidoscopic critique of power, identity, and ideological fantasy. By exaggerating both the fervor of revolution and the paranoia of right-wing backlash, the film holds up a mirror to our polarized age, revealing not just the absurdity of extremism, but the human cost of surrendering nuance. Anderson’s satire is never maliciously cynical — it punctures pomposity, exposes hypocrisy, and leaves us unsettled in the best way, prompting us to laugh, wince, and reflect all at once.

Not for Republican snowflakes. Always whining. The movie is excellent.

This is the epitome of a depraved hollywood movie. I didnt watch the trailers or do any research and thats on me so if I can help one person i feel I have done my part. This is the absolute biggest dumpster fire to come out of hollywood in years. ps. it wouldnt let me give it zero stars

One of the worst. Too stupid to be a drama, not smart enuf for a dark comedy, so many f words ya kinda forget what they're trying to say.. Crap. 2 others in party left midway....

Tremendous film, laughed my ass off. A crucifixion of right wing lunacy. Sean Penn is the best bad guy since Bill the Butcher in Gangs of New York. I’m going to see it again and I haven’t done that in a long time.

Unbelievably great movie. Normal people won't get it, but if you are really into movies, you will love this movie. Best movie this year.

Heck of a movie. Portrays the heavy, isolating costs of revolution and resistance, and how it drives people apart and forces people to put up walls-- and how hate-driven ideologies fundamentally function off of selfishness and fear and inevitably eat each other. Staple PTA incredible filmmaking on display, with some tense and kinetic chases and vehicle sequences, and the dark subject matter cut with just the smallest brush of whimsy.

Film attempted to portray radical left wing ideology in a positive light. Extremely vulgar language throughout. Not worth the price of popcorn.

Seeing a pregnant lady shooting a machine gun was ridiculous. Glorifying violence and known terrorists is a criminal act. Don't waste your time with this trash.

It was very political and didn't bring much, it was more of a survival movie with a feel good ending

Antifa is a global terrorist organization and what does Hollywood predictably do? Portrays them in a positive light, so typical ...

Beautiful film, it’s something we needed today and honestly don’t be a prude.

It’s not only fantastic on every level, but there is a lot of comic relief. The movie doesn’t feel as long as it is-the time flies with great entertainment, acting & directing.

This movie is slow, lots of drug use, terrorism violence, stupid plot line. Nothing good about it. Just a waste of time

Decent movie with a warm ending

Stop shooting people! Otherwise it was good.

Wonderful acting. DiCaprio is always a hit. He's even funny in this one. Sean Penn is amusing, too. Chase Infiniti held her own. Will be good to see her more. IMAX is a good choice because some of it is scenic. I could swear that the film was a statement about current ICE activity and hate groups but it was completed over a year ago. Apparently not much has changed. I went with 4 stars because so much of the action is the usual gun fights and car chase scenes.

Why? Don't we have enough real people blowing up buildings and other people. If you sit and watch this you could be part of the problem. Nothing good to see here. I can think of a lot of movies that actually have something good to offer.

First 20 minutes was absolutely raunchy, profane and disgusting. We did not care if it was going to get "better".. Took about an hour to cleanse our brain and spirit from such trash.

User review rating: 5 September 26, 2025

An excellent movie which doesn’t feel like 2 hours 40. All actors played their roles tremendously. I especially liked Sean Penn, even though he played a creep. Chase Infiniti was awesome. A good film to watch on a big screen.

Very surprised I liked the movie. 3 hours of action. Sean Penn was a POS inthe movie and quite jacked. Leonardo went from oe crisis to another all in the same dirty clothes. Go and see it you won't be disappointed.

An undeniable master work of drama and suspense, but it adds to the Phamtom thread that runs through all PTA movies - he has issues with men. Leo has a redeemable character, most superstar actor's agents demand it, but every other white guy in the film is villainous to the extreme with no redeemable character - and there are dozens. The only redeemable characters here and in most his films, and modern films in general, are women and minority characters. This one exemplifies that thread more than all of the others combined. That said, he's a master at film and story telling and I loved the movie, especially the benevolent character played by Bencio Del Toro.
