A farmer in Mêle-sur-Sarthe, the Norman village of which he has been the mayor for 15 years, Georges Balbuzard is always ready to spring to the defense of his fellow citizens and the rural community. His latest action: to block a road with tractors and spread hay on the road to alert the public and the media to the difficulties experienced by farmers.
Without success. Then who winds up in the village but Newman, a famous American photographer in the midst of a continuous project: to take a portrait of a tree in the middle of a field, around which hundreds of people are posed... all naked!
Finally seeing the opportunity to obtain the desired media visibility, George undertakes to convince his constituents, all modest workers, to undress for the cause.
