From 1940 to 1960 in Quebec, unmarried mothers were forced to give their babies up for adoption.
Thus the destiny of Louis-Joseph Hébert, alias Nestor, who was one of the hundreds of abandoned children dubbed "The Duplessis Orphans." For many years, Nestor and the others who shared the same unfortunate childhoods battled on a daily basis to obtain restitution for the physical and sexual abuse they endured at the hands of priests.
Accompanied by his friend Emile Quenneville, Nestor revisits the Huberdeau orphanage where he was raised, and recounts his arduous journey to find his lost dignity.
