A movie is made to set your mind of away from this world. This is exactly what it does. French movies can do this. (very few American too)

Everyone in the Hollywood money machine should see this movie! Director Jeunet is a visionary, ranking up there with Nolan and Gilliam as the best there are. Funny, original, smart and inventive, MicMacs brings the magic back to movies.

What a fun romp! Such beautiful set design, a real feast for your eyes!

User review rating: 5 July 28, 2010

Genius script, awesome effects, decent acting and fun galore make this one of the best films of this or any year. Hollywood should be taking notes from director Jeunet because another rehash, remake, reboot is the last thing we need! None of that here! Just pure filmmaking brilliance that rewards the audience laugh after laugh.

I love the movie so much I saw it twice that's a rarity for me. Writer and director Jeunet created another fantastic film. I love his other 2001 movie Amelie too.

Just plain fun! Brillianly conceived and executed film. Jeunet is the most original and inventive director working today. Funny, inspired and highly entertaining, another feather in Jeunet's filmmaking hat!

Another amazing endeavour from Jeunet. Packed with humour, inventiveness and thought, another fine example of what Hollywood "could" be doing instead of remakes, reboots and rehashes. Original thought and creativity is not dead! At least outside the USA it isn't.

First rate film from the master of physical comedy Jeunet. Much like his earlier effort Delicatessen, funny, inventive and very entertaining. It seems Jeunet is one of the few filmmakers left who remembers what a sight gag is. More power to him!

Excellent surprise of a movie. Very entertaining comedy with surprising twists and turns, all the while keeping you interested with visually stunning cinematography... what great fun! Highly recommended, highly entertaining.

Now this is entertainment! Jeunet returns with another imaginative and visually impressive piece of work that dazzles and entertains with every turn. If you like movies you will love MicMacs.

Another original piece of genius from Jeunet. Funny, heartwarming and original, this is what movies are all about. The perfect piece of escapism suited for all ages and tastes. Worth checking out more than once.

Another spectacular achievement by Jeunet.

Pleasantly surprised. Well done. Will see this one again.

A fun, family movie about a man who seeks revenge on two arms companies by turning them against each other. It's Mission Impossible action in overly-elaborate slapstick style with all of Jeunet's trademark details.

Take a smart script, inspired film making and an excellent cast and movies don't get much better than this. Highly entetaining and very inspired, Juenet has done it again!

Micmacs is a smart, funny, surreal take on a vengeance flick. Orphaned by a mine in the Moroccan desert and with a bullet lodged in his brain as a result of a freak accident during a drive-by shooting, Bazil [Dany Boon] decides to seek a unique revenge when he finds the manufacturers of the two weapons near a junkyard where he has sought refuge with a peculiar but winning surrogate family. The film has a unique, junkyard chic look and Boon's deadpan physicality may remind of Keaton and Chaplin. Jean-Pierre Jeunet's direction is deliberate and painstaking. Paced to take advantage of the unique skills of its cast, Micmacs pokes fun at the whole genre of vengeance movies with its intelli

Delightful and imaginative. I can't wait until it comes out on DVD so I can watch it again!

Excellent film. Brilliantly scripted and shot.

Best film of the Summer... so far. Jeunet is up to his usual creative genius, not on par with other Jeunet endeavours, but great none the less.

User review rating: 5 July 05, 2010

Brilliant, loved every minute of this inspired movie. Expanding on his already impressive list of films, Jeunet once again delivers the inspired goods, insanity and cast of motley characters we've come to expect from France's finest export. Well done!

Micmacs was an entertaining movie. The characters were endearing, but there was a triteness to the plot. The movie did have its moments, but Micmacs lacked the sparkle and imagination of Amelie, the director's previous comedy. To me it wasn't worth spending $12.00 at the movie theatre. I should have just waited for it to come out on DVD.

very funny movie

Entertaining diversion with plenty of inventive plot twists and engaging characters. Not as inventive as other Jeunet films, but fast paced and full of humour. Don't wait for a crappy U.S. remake, see this now!

These characters are larger than life and their quirks turn in to advantages when they seek revengeon the arms dealers.

wow i think i got brain damage watching that trash

User review rating: 4 June 29, 2010

Jeunet is the nmaster of "set 'em up, knock 'em down" cinema so prepare to be "bowled over" with this one. Intuitive film making and excellent visuals make MicMacs well worth checking out.
