Bud never talks about his experiences fighting in World War II but when his grandson Kyle discovers his old war footlocker, he strikes a deal with the 13-year-old boy—Kyle can pick any three souvenirs and Bud will tell him the detailed story behind each one. Little do either of them realize how much that one day on the porch shaped both of their lives.
