Acclaimed director Werner Herzog takes a look at the way society depends on the Internet for nearly everything to the point where we can barely function without it. From the birth of the Internet at UCLA, he delves into how the explosion of information technology has led to some of its greatest glories.

On the flip side, we meet a women who had become so ill from the wireless radiation signals that when she heard of a place in the forest without cell towers, she moved there within 48 hours. Another woman declares the Internet is the manifestation of evil itself. Arizona State University cosmologist Lawrence Krauss questions whether future generations will even need human companionship.

We even are shown a group of monks who, instead of meditating, are all looking at their phones, apparently tweeting or texting. Presented by NETSCOUT, a leader in service assurance and cyber security, Herzog explores the ups and downs of this wonderful but at times frightening technology and the consequences of our rapidly interconnecting online lives.
