"Mom, when I grow up I'll be a girl." From the age of four, Sasha clearly expressed his deep conviction of being a girl and his rejection of his male body. Four years later, there is no longer any doubt: Sasha is a girl, born — by mistake — in a boy's body. Aware that people are looking at Sasha differently, that she does not live the same happy and carefree childhood as her classmates, Sasha’s mother Karine arranges for her to meet with a child psychiatrist, so that Sasha's gender dysphoria can be diagnosed and recognized. This way, she hopes, her entry into grade three will be easier, because Sacha, like the other little girls, will be able to do it… in a dress.
