University student Masaya Kakei receives a letter from serial killer Yamato Haimura, who's been convicted of multiple murders and given the death penalty. Yamato once ran a bakery that Masaya frequented while in middle school. Yamato admits to most of the murders, but insists that he didn't commit the last one and Masaya begins to investigate the final case.
