In an effort to win back partial custody of his daughter, washed-up binge-drinking former champion soccer player Patrick Orberá is sentenced to coach a soccer team on the tiny Breton island of Molène.

When he arrives there, the mayor, Titouan Leguennec, tells him the fate of the local cannery, placed in receivership, depends on the team’s victory. Unsatisfied with the current level of the players, Orberá recruits a group of former star players.

However, that’s not the end of his troubles: Latino goalie Marandella wants to play center forward; N'Dogo suffers from a heart condition and Berda soon has to return to prison. Meanwhile, Léandri, who wants to be a movie star, suffers stage fright whenever it’s time for a penalty kick. Orberá and Leguennec resort to desperate efforts to focus him on getting the ball into the net.
