This movie's cinematography and harmonius editing is remarkable. Seemless meaningful scene changes, a complete joy to watch with serious implications and a Parable for all men to wise up on. Excellence in the making and viewing, Thanks to all the crew, writers and superperb acting. Thank you from Montreal Regards, Gerry G
The boyfriend Atlas is surrounded by abusive spouses, his mom, Lily and her mother, a little bit of a stretch that he's the rescue man for abused women.
My comment on the "1 star commentors"; 1. they're clueless about this movie 2. they should ONLY watch movies with simple plots; man kills man, police chase man who killed man, man who killed man goes to jail; 3. flashbacks are important in telling another time in ones life relative to the current time. (Not that confusing). 4. The " 1 stars" really JUST DIDN'T GET IT. For "better or for worse " - are you kidding me!? He didn't manipulate her to get her into bed & beat her at his every whim; He genuinely, but obsessively loved her but , had self control issues. I think the End was excellent where Ms. Lively gives an example of 'What if you had a daughter....." I think this movie was well crafted, even with whatever flaws you may find, in its message & presentation; not offensive in its romantic or violence scenes. The more I think about this movie the more I'm moved & want to see it again. RH
A strong woman and done well, glad it didn’t dwell on darkness. Showed strengths and the need to communicate. Some male acting was poor. Needs the uplift happy ending! Good interpretation of book.
I'm a sucker for a happy ending. What I didn't like it's hard for me to watch violence, but that's what it was about.
Using God’s name in vain was uncalled for. The acting was terrible and it was hard to follow. After the first 3/4 of the movie it finally had a plot besides having sex. Every young person especially needs to know the brainwashing that some use to manipulate their victims and how sly they are. This movie could have been done in a better way.
Not a romantic comedy but a romantic drama. romantic scenes were tastefully done . Violence was minimal so as not to be uncomfortable. (the "Burnining Bed" [70's] Farrah Faucett - based on a true story was the most difficult movie ever ! ,, to watch because of the domestic violence). Ms. Lively i thought gave an excellent performance. The difference is , in this movie he lashed out when angry, then was sincerely sorry he hurt her - He did genuinely love her. He respected her wishes, - In the Burnig Bed - the husband just smacked his wife up-side the head because he felt like it - most difficult movie to watch. I actually squirmed in my seat I was so uncomfortable watching the brutallity in The Burning Bed. Anyway, I hope to see it "It ends.." again. (For the confused about Flashbacks - the "flashbacks were necessary for it showed how she felt she was reliving the past again).
Great acting delivering a sensitive story without cliches. Lots of emotional turns.
Loved it 🤗🤗🤗
Did not treat with any reality.
It was the boringest movie I saw in my entire life. I was so happy it was over. Women eat it up because they live in a fantasy world. They want everything so perfect. Didn't she take a vow for better or worse. He seemed like a good guy to me..said he was looking into getting help. This movie is so phoney it hurts. I guess now we can't squish a grapefruit into a women's face anymore like James Cagney. Men stay away from this tortuous movie..go watch women's gone wild. This is movie is for delusional chicks looking for a knight in shining armour and sugar daddies
Loved it
Excellent; well acted. Would love to see it again and read the book as well!
My wife and I went to see this and I thought it was pretty much a "chick flick" romance, but then it started getting deep, and I was engaged, especially the last 25%. Very well acted with an excellent message and a great ending.
This film is well acted. However, the sequence of scenes is at times confusing. It does a good job of portraying domestic abuse.
This movie was so stupid unless you are an adolescent. Did anyone else notice that the siblings were of a different race? I walked out. Oh and the wardrobe was Sex in the City copy doesn’t work. It’s distracting and ridiculous.
Channing Tatum should have been in this movie
Very romantical! It make me feel good watch! Magic Fire of a movie!
It was an awesome love story. Even though It did bring tears to my eyes a couple times. I only wish it would have shown more of the (old)/new romance at the end.
🤔 understand the basic message. Somewhat unrealistic in it's flow... But then it is a movie.. appreciated the attention given to this important issue of abuse in its many forms...we need to remember it's not just the male gender who abuse...
I couldn't wait for the end.
This movie was great! For those of you that are confused read the book. If you aren’t a Colleen Hoover fan you won’t understand.
The way they weaved this story and allowed it to unfold was so sensitive and still impactful. You could have heard a pin drop in the Vancouver theatre. Much respect to the courage of the actors, director and crewe telling this story - I will see it again.
Movie for women who are waiting for Prince Charming. This is fantasy ladies, these guys don't exist.
Unexpectedly good movie. Common subject matter that often swept under the table and not openly talked about. I am not an expert on actors and have trouble remembering names of those on the big screen but I really liked the way each person portrayed their roll.

Bad boys with tats yum
Abuse not O.K. there is no real help for that saying sorry does no erase it or stop it. Movie a good reminder.
My husband and I enjoyed the movie.
Just another pro feminist, men, bad women, good, really tired of the constant belittlement of men and the lack of accountability for women and their bad behaviour
PERFECT CAST !!!!
Writer did a very good job on a very real subject without making the scene's difficult hard to view. Everyone weather they have been in an abusive relationship or not should see this.
Movie subject matter is uncomfortable with message for women see the red flags. Message to theaters DO something about the phone addicts who can't stop using a phone during a film it is getting worse!!
A well done drama with a strong message.
Slow and she is not the best actress. But worth seeing. As far as the person said about it being the same as enough with lopez. Completely different story.
Slow moving hard to follow flip back and forth from past to future. Acting just O.K. story or plot many many women can relate. Truth be told save your $$.
Amazing movie. Very well cast, very well acted, and great story line. Best movie I’ve seen in a long time.
Down with nice boys we like bad boys with tats tee hee
Unbelievably good. I was kept interested at every step of the way. I went in thinking it wouldn't be that good, maybe mildly entertaining but it was excellent and has a surprise ending. Just awesome.
I purchased a ticket last Friday cause I am on a Big Screen Kick and this was the only 7pm release I had not seen. No idea what it was about or who in it. Brought my hoodie, gloves, earmuffs and socks, just cause. OK, I am almost 74yrs old and this young woman has only been a blip on my radar previously, Traveling Pants was good, but she was not the breakout there. Maybe there was someone on my heart that I had not acknowledged. I don't know but as soon as I wrapped up warmly, my emotions were gonna have a say, 4 sure. I am not an emotional/feelings person. Tried my best, biting the inside of my left cheek, covering my mouth w/my left hand. 45 yrs. ago, I taught myself to not make a single sound if I had no choice but to allow tears to fall. Well, all that failed me and I ended up a well of uncontrollable emotion, so embarrassed cause, dog bite, I always can control the tears, much less the occasional sob. This young woman gave an intensely personal performance. Yes, there are people like Lily Blossum Bloom. They just are not portrayed on the big screen cause it's a quiet, deeply-open-yourself-up and feel the person you are entrusted to portray. Ms. Lively has much more to offer via the big and small screens. Truly amazing movie because everyone in the movie was giving their all, their best, w/o doing the over-the-top thing. I will see again and bring Kleenex this time. Yawl give it a look-see.
Justin Baldoni was sooo creepy in the beginning, and the stuff he was saying to her was so off putting. So then he pursued her and I suppose it was flattering. But the first thing that happens, I honestly thought it was an accident, it just went by too fast. And as soon as it happened, he was so caring and so worried about her. My friend said it wasn't an accident, so that made way more sense for all that happened after that. It should have been more clear and Justin, who was the director, that was up to him. Maybe he should cast someone else in a movie when he's directing so he can see more clearly what's happening on the screen.
The story line just sucked but Blake is worth movie ticket price to look at - there wasn't much chemistry in actors but it was as I've said above- entertaining B+ movie . Not great - just OK.
Jennifer Lopez already made this movie -- it's called ENOUGH.
