It looked like the new director didn`t read the book!!! There were sooo many things missed.... and not just little details. I also didn`t like how Hagrid`s hut was like, in the rockies!! come on!! why did this movie have to be so different than the other two??? And the ending made no sense!!!! the whole Quidditch Cup thing wasn`t there and I was looking forward to that :( Although I have to say that Peter Pettigrew was done very well.

Wonderful movie, very imagnative. The characters were great and the story was really god, can`t wait for the next one.

User review rating: 0 June 13, 2004

It seemed like it was just thrown together. I didn`t like it and since I didn`t read the book, I left the theatre confused too.

User review rating: 0 June 13, 2004

Best of the the three!

User review rating: 0 June 13, 2004

It was OK. More adult and dark so it wasn`t as much "not as good" as the first 2 movies as it was "not what I was expecting". I`ll still go see the next one when it comes out.

This was the best Harry Potter film yet!! Full of humour, mystery, and action. Lupin was an amazing addition to the cast of characters. The characters themselves are more rich, and fully realized, excellent film for the family!

First of all.. As for those of you CONSTANTLY COMPLAINING about how "the movie wasn`t as good as the book" go read the book and and shut up!! As for those of you who haven`t seen or read either of them then I suggest you watch the movie first, Then read the book.. I think the book was better as well but in order to keep in all those details then the movie would end up being like 8 hours long! They did a great job with what they had to work with! The only thing was I don`t think they had a high point in climax, I think it was the director though, so Otherwise great job!

I saw the movie twice, I loved it! I know everyone has already pointed out many times that some big things were missing from the movie..but there is still another movie coming. Hopefully everything will get told in the 4th! I think it was awsome, the scene with Buckbeak and Harry was awsome, I loved the scenery! Even though the book had more detail, the movie definitely did a great job fitting in most of it!

I still have to go and watch the movie so I am still not sure ?

User review rating: 0 June 13, 2004

I thought the moive was great! Alfonso did a great job at directing it. The book is much more darker then the first two, so thus is the movie. Micheal Gambon did a great job at playing Prof. Dumbledore. He`s not trying to be Richard Harris. He`s doing Dumbledore his own way. And I liked it. Remus Lupin wasn`t up to how I imagined him but when he spoke to Harry, you know it was the Remus from the book. Even though stuff changed, some people need to remember that Harry, Ron, and Hermione are growing up. They need to change. Yes stuff was cut out and stuff was added. Some say the location of the Whomping Willow, but remember you see the Whomping

I loved the movie. But i wish they had included the scene where Malfoy Crab and Goyl dress up as dementors and Harry summons the patronos on them.

If you didn`t read the book I guess it`s okay, but if you did read the book you`re going to find it disappointing. I didn`t really like it.

User review rating: 0 June 13, 2004

I have read all of the Harry Potter books many, many times. The third book was my secound fav. but this movie disapointed me. Don`t get me wrong it was good but Alfonso left out lots of very important details, that some one who hasn`t read the book needs to know. The whole part in the Shreiking Shack should have been longer , but all in all it was good. Oh yah and Hermoine is getting really HOT!! Keith Ottawa, Ontario

I love the way the new director portrayed it. It`s more acurate to the books, and the kids seem a little more normal than they used to. Keep the the good work.

User review rating: 0 June 13, 2004

I was disappointed with the film. It is very different from the book. I would like the original director, Chris Columbus, to continue the production of the rest of the Harry Potter sequences using only his directing approach.

User review rating: 0 June 13, 2004

THis movie was good except they took out so much of the book. I am a bigger fan of the book this time but I know they will do a better job next time!

User review rating: 0 June 13, 2004

The best of the three so far--even though I loved the first two. Azkaban is more just a film, as opposed to a children`s film. Much more sophisticated, the kids are growing as actors, the director (Alfonso Cuaron) is magical! I wish he was directing the 4th one!

User review rating: 0 June 13, 2004

ALL GROWN UP! For all you who didn`t see the first two harry potter films because it was a "kids` movie" have no fear! the prisoner of azkaban is definately a solid movie, that`s more mature but still for all ages.

I was soooo disappointed by this film. I am a huge harry potter fan, and to see my favorite book of the five strayed from so drastically, (where did harry get the broom, who made the mauraders map, harry did not see petigrews name on the map, dementors don`t fly, ron and hermoine were fighting through the whole book, harry saw sirius at the quidditch match not a grim in the clouds, etc).VERY DISAPPOINTED!

User review rating: 0 June 13, 2004

It was great. Even though it wasen`t all the same as teh book, they did a fantastic Job. 1,000,000 stars from me

User review rating: 0 June 12, 2004

Iliked it so much~!

User review rating: 0 June 12, 2004

I have seen it twice in a week.

User review rating: 0 June 12, 2004

It was alright, although, not for children any more. Those dementors scared my daughter who is three. And this little girl sat all the way through the first two with not a peep. And i think leaving out who made the map made it harder to fit the peices together. any ways go see it, it is worth your time.

User review rating: 0 June 12, 2004

IT WAS GREAT! oh my! daniel radcliffe is so HOTT! and ive read all the books. i can`t wait til the fourth one comes out, i hear viktor krum is really hot!

User review rating: 0 June 12, 2004

An extremly good movie except that they left many important parts out and changed many things in the movie like the location of hagrid`s hut.Other than that it waz really good

User review rating: 0 June 12, 2004

great movie...it`s nice, exiting, scary, funny...everything!! I have seen all 3 Harry Potter movies but this one is definetly my favorite...really good

User review rating: 0 June 12, 2004

this movie was thwe best one of them all so far a little bit darker than the other ones but over all i loved it great job

User review rating: 0 June 12, 2004

It is not as the book says, but it is great.

User review rating: 0 June 11, 2004

Although it was a great movie it lacked what the first two movies were. They should have left the characters and the scenery the same. I guess that`s what you get when you change directors.

User review rating: 0 June 11, 2004

Harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban is a four star movie

User review rating: 0 June 11, 2004

I think this movie was impecable. Cuaron took risks and exceeded expections above and beyond. Yes, a lot was cut, but film is almost always less detailed than the book, for time limitations. I`m a die hard Harry Potter fan, and so impressed with all the films thus far. Now, the real challenge will be the Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix. I trust we can expect great things from them too.

My grandson and I went last night and I thought it was magnificent. You can escape with Harry and Ron and Hermine into the wonderful world of magic. Fly through the air with Harry, fall from a broomstick, just fantastic.... Can`t wait for number 4

User review rating: 0 June 11, 2004

i thought it was great! its like empire strikes back dark ;-) which is a great thing for any movie series.

User review rating: 0 June 10, 2004

Way more artistic film direction in this one. Much subtler visual messages. The movie just flies off the screen. - for those of you dissapointed because every detail from the book isn`t in the movie, go read the book again. You would need an 8 hour movie to replicate the books detail. Wonderful job.

User review rating: 0 June 10, 2004

I was a little disappointed the first time I heard that Chris Columbus wasn`t to direct this movie, but when I saw it, it was great. Even though, everything was changed (the wardrobe, the hair styles, even the wands) I still think that it was a great movie, but why did the change the wands and stuff?

User review rating: 0 June 09, 2004

Awsome movie overall but didnt like how much was missing from the book.

User review rating: 0 June 09, 2004

It woz great! im glad they used us english kids coz american would `av ruined it

User review rating: 0 June 09, 2004

I thought the movie was good but a lot of important stuff was left out of the book such as the authors who made the Marauders Map and how each of them got their nicknames. The movie was different from the first two and Dumbledore was not as good as in the other two movies. Gambon needs to work on that better for the other movies.

User review rating: 0 June 09, 2004

I enjoy it - it was a fast 2 hour and 20 min

User review rating: 0 June 09, 2004

In terms of visual effects, the movie was alright. That`s about all I can say about the ONLY positive of this movie.

User review rating: 0 June 09, 2004

They have gota pathetic director

User review rating: 0 June 09, 2004

This movie rocked. Even though it strayed alot from the books, all in all it was awsome. And come on it isnt the actual book ITS THE MOVIE so get over it. If you read the book like i did, dont be disappointed, you know everything else that really happened. I loved Sirius, and Lupin. They were greatly cast. I miss Richard harris. Just to let you know, watch the movie, and then read the book. Because the book is better than the movie, but the movie is still amazing.

User review rating: 0 June 08, 2004

I loved it!!! i think its the best one of the three that are made so far.the dementors were really freaky and looked so freakin real. i shuddered everu time they came on the screen.lol well, g2g bb cya at the next review, lol

User review rating: 0 June 08, 2004

The new director was not very good. It is too different from the first two. Plus, I didn`t like the new Dumbledore, he was very blah and didnt have as much character as the old one. Still a great movie, but its not true to the book. It kind of ruined some mental pictures of mine, but I bought advance tickets and enjoyed it all the same.

User review rating: 0 June 08, 2004

I wish there would have been more detail. The trio did a good job.

User review rating: 0 June 08, 2004

GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! the movie was better than the original. it was filled with nonstop action and plenty of good laughs. This a movie that teens and adults would enjoy its not a film for kids great! acting A+ story A+ directing A+

User review rating: 0 June 08, 2004

I think that it was really good, but....they shouldn`t of cut too many parts out, i mean they totally cut out the ending where harry`s broom gets taken from him ect....but overall it was really really good , and rupert and daniel look soo damn fine now that he`s older!!;)(from mya-14,UK)

User review rating: 0 June 08, 2004

the dementors looked great and it stuck to the books story line

User review rating: 0 June 08, 2004

Emma Watson who plays Hermione in this movie got really hot! Dont worry. Im not one of those weird older guys who like little girls, im her age. Anyway, about the movie, I thought this is the best Harry Potter movie so far. Harry doesnt let anyone mess with with him. He even tells off and threatens his step parents and turns his weird mean aunt into a balloon without undoing the spell. DUDE!!!

User review rating: 0 June 08, 2004

i think whoever actually liked the movie should try reading the book. I was extremely dissappointed with how much they left out. they should try getting a new director if they make another one and the new professor Dumbledore just didn`t fit the part. It was a sham.
