In 1970, Angela Davis, 26, became a suspect in a kidnapping committed in which a high school student used several guns, purchased only days before. The guns were traced to her and she went on the lam.
The documentary follows Davis' social justice activism and how her kidnapping crime, political movement, and trial transform her into a revolutionary political icon.
