Allie (Clare McNulty) is waffling on preparing her papers to join the Peace Corps, while Harper (Bridey Elliott), who describes herself as an "artist," constantly hits up her jet-setting father for money to get by.
When a couple of good-looking guys invite them for a carefree Fort Tilden afternoon, the two friends quickly forget their responsibilities for the day. As the two head out on a lengthy journey to the beach, they quickly realize that, just like their confusing, transitioning lives, they're not sure of where they’re going or how to get there.
