Leo, a man in his 70s, wants his two older sons, David and Max, to make peace. He invites them to his 70th birthday, without telling either one that the other will be there. But the result is a catastrophy. It’s been a long time since the family was all together.
Leo was once a salesman, spending much of his time on the road. A widower, he thought he was raising his sons with strong family values, but now he feels his efforts were in vain. Is it too much to ask for a little affection and gratitude from them? To see David, he almost has to make an appointment to meet with him for more than three minutes.
And Max, who has been on unemployment since he lost his job should have spare time for him, but doesn’t. As for Simon, the adolescent who never grew up, he always seemed to be living on another planet. Leo doesn’t know what he can do to get his family back together again. Then fate gives him a little help. He gets an illness. Oh, nothing serious.
His brother, a doctor, admits him to the hospital for observation. And his children come to see him. Separately, but they come. Finally, being sick has a good side to it. And Loe knows what he has to do. He tells them he has to have surgery. Nothing too serious, but with a 50 percent chance of survival.
But before this delicate operation which will take place in three weeks, he has time to take his children on a trip with him. Maybe for the last time! Who could resist a father who doesn’t have much longer to live and is only asking for a week so he can depart in peace?
