Paris, August 24, 1944. The German army, which has occupied France for four years, prepares to surrender. At Hitler’s orders, General Von Choltitz prepares to blow up all of the city’s bridges and monuments. To dissuade him from putting this fatal plan into action, Swedish Consul Raoul Nordling sets up a meeting with the General at the Meurisse hotel. Face to face, the two men, who know each other, begin a dialogue that lasts until morning.
