On May 12, 2008, a terrible earthquake struck China's Sichuan province, resulted in the deaths of 70,000 people, including many children, often due to the collapse of their shoddily built schools. Entire classrooms filled with students, most of them their parents' only child, were wiped out. But when grieving mothers and fathers sought explanations and justice, they found their path blocked by incompetence, corruption and empty promises.
