The story of the man behind the classic movies, 9 TO 5, HAROLD AND MAUDE, FOUL PLAY, SILVER STREAK, and many others. The documentary is told by a warm, star-studded cast including Jane Fonda, Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin, Dom DeLuise, and Charles Durning, who wittily recall their comedic memories.
Colin Higgins, the shyest of six brothers grew up in Australia, and through a series of career starts and stops, found himself one of the hottest screenwriters and directors in Hollywood. Growing up in the 60's and 70's, his life and work were shaped amidst the turmoil of the Vietnam War and the burgeoning Gay rights movement.
Higgins, who succumbed to AIDS at the height of his career, is loving and humorously remembered in the insightful documentary directed by his long-time friend and fellow career professional Nicholas Eliopoulos.
