In this coming-of-age film with a medieval twist, 13-year-old Lady Catherine, better known as Birdy (Bella Ramsey), is to be married. She doesn't want to be married, much to the dismay of her father (Andrew Scott). When her much older suitor visits her village of Stonebridge, Birdy must use her wit and personality to get out of the arrangement. At the same time, she learns more about herself and what it means to be a young woman.
