I haven`t seen any other Bond films besides this one. It was really good. I thought that Daniel Craig played a good 007.
For those of you who claims that Daniel Craig is not HOT enough for this role, well, I think you guys should open your eyes and see clearly. If you watch Bond movies just because of sex appeal and fancy gadgets, then you might as well go watch I-Spy (sucks!!) But if you are down with real hardcore action then you gotta see this. In my opinion, the first chase scene where Daniel Craig going after Sebastien Foucan was well worth the ticket. Audiences should focus on Sebastien Foucan who was actually the founder of so-called Free Running. One final word, even though Daniel Craig is not as hot as compared to other Bonds` men, his passion in C
It was ok. Good action flick, but not worthy of all the hype.
Great movie. The poker did go on a little too long for me, but the rest was well done. I can`t wait until they start again with the special equipment that was invented for him, and used to be in the older movies.
LOVED IT.
Daniel Craig IS definitely James Bond!!! He`s making Bond look like a REAL man finally. It was such a great movie. I would watch it again for sure and for those who are saying that his stunt double doesn`t look like him... well put some glasses on because he`s making his own stunts! I can`t wait to buy it on DVD and to see another movie! 10/10
Daniel Craig`s a real man and is not afraid to get a punch in the face. the first chase scene was incredible. He is debonaire without even trying and raw sexappeal makes him the quintesstial Bond. He is not so pretty and couiffed as the others and well make all other Bonds, yes including Mr.Connery look like "poofs".
BEST BOND EVER
****0-0--**** Man, I have never seen so much fire and passion from an actor before. Such gorgeous piercing blue eyes. His eyes and voice made me float outta my seat! He is absolutely bursting with SEX-APPEAL. Yeah, he is `bringing sexy back` !!
Great job by Daniel Craig and a sure fire winner for Sony when it comes to Blu-ray. Daniel Craig is excellent as Bond as plays the young Bond getting his Double-0 status perfectly. I had hesistations about Craig when he was first announced, but he trounced every single one of them. I though Paul Blackthorne would be great as Bond, but I can`t imagine anyone doing a better job than Craig. Congratulations to the Bond franchise on getting back on track after that awful "ride the wave hangliding" scene from Die Another Day.
S0rry, but this movie and Danial Craig just does not cut it. I was hoping that Adrian Paul (The Highlander) would have that role, but with this weak story line I am glad he did not lower himself. Opening scenes were that best for action after that it was downhill, Daniel Craig does not have the look, attitude, or balls to play Bond. As a true Bond fan, I can only hope and pray that the writers have an epiphany for the next story line and they rethink on who should play Bond. Barbara
A *** 1/2 equivelnt,it`s defintly no classic. but it`s 6th best on my list. they should bring sean back with CGI, that whould be better, or how about a modernized Dr.no, that whould be fun!
A little long, but unforgettable. Daniel Craig is amazing!
Before Casino Royale, I thought that James Bond did not have a place in this generation, except as the campy, outdated father of the likes of Austin Powers and Cody Banks. CR is frighteningly real and draws your thoughts to current world events.
Casino Royale has breathed new life into the Bond franchise, and made me a fan of Craig
Daniel Craig brings intensity to his role, and reminds us that a man like Bond cannot survive as a spy by dressing well and flashing high-tech gear. This film shows that the Bond films can be believable relevant, gritty, and new.
The modern movie; lots of actions. The plot is bad and boring; the action is great.
If you read Flemming`s character description of Bond, you will know he was NOT a gentleman in the beginning. Wow! Well done. He is Bond! Cannot wait for the next Bond film.
Great start....but way toooooo looooong. Exhausted after nearly 3 hours sitting in the theatre. Began to wonder if it would ever end.
Huge 007 fan, Daniel Craig gave a stellar performance (much to my surprise).
It was great - Daniel Craig was awesome!
Do women really find Daniel Craig attractive? He looks like some kind of albino goblin. Freaked me out.
Worst Bond to date...even the visuals in the opening credits were poor as well as the theme song...Bond has to get back to the elements of some "supersition" and "science fiction" in the vein of "Live And Let Die" and "Moonraker" hybridized into its movie plots...the action is there...but action alone falls flats without the presence of a fantastical plot or an enigmatic villian... Daniel Craig though is a very worthwhile Bond nevertheless...
I am so not a Bond fan but got dragged to see this by my husband. I have to say that I loves it!! Action, Romance and great car chases. Loved it!! Back to basics, gritty, and all around great
BOND? Where`s the gadgets? The funniest scene is when "BOND`s" car flips out!Really you would think a double o would recieve a better car.
Daniel craig is the new sean connery. Way better than any of pierce brosnan and roger moore. Can`t wait for the next bond movie. U da man, craig!!!
Probably one of the best James Bond. More real and more human than the others. It makes James Bond more human than the image of Superman in the other movies.
I have to admit, even though I am not attracted to blond men and had mediocre expectations, I was pleasantly surprised. I LOVED it. Yes, the poker scenes were too dragged out. However, I loved the storyline. Which hero isn`t awkward, overly eager and unpretencious at THE BEGINNING of his career? BRAVO Daniel Craig! HOT bod, by the way ;) Pierce et al. take note.
a good movie...but not a good james bond movie...to much poker, not enough action and flow You know, I have always said that Steven Spielberg should direct a bond movie. That would be sweet!!!
sorry it Rocks
I t is the most suckiest movie in the whole wide world. (boring)
Excellent movie. Back to the basics is where this franchise should go and it delivered on every level. Craig was a perfect choice, we really see how the Bond character started and this movie was on the money with regards to Flemings first novel. Can`t wait for the next one..
Hey everyone,I have been a huge bond fan since I was around 11-12 years old and now im 20 years. I have been waiting for this film since 02 and boy, it was the best I have watched in a very long time. This time no gadets but pure manpower to help bond in his first mission. At first I thought Daniel would be a bad bond, but he proved me wrong from the start of the film. I hope to see him in the next 2 hes doing and maybe more.
Worst movie of all time - not even worth paying 2 bucks for at the video store -10/100
Very good, would and have recommended it to others
This Bond is exactly what Ian Fleming wrote about. Craig is Bond, anyone who disagree`s is going by what other crappy filmakers made him to be in the recent crapfests. This is the Bond that learns all his lessons while he`s a rookie, he`s supposed to be a little more clumsy in this film, and is blinded by a woman, and has his heart broken, which makes Bond into what he is in all the preceding novels. Forget the movies read an Ian Fleming book, then see this movie and you`ll see that its what Bond is supposed to be. Third only to From Russia with Love & On Her Majesty`s Secret Service
Craig gives Bond his balls back. Second only to Connery. This 007 was a perfect decription of who Bond really is, and why he is the way he is, no other Bond film was a chareacter study like this one, which kicked ass. We find out why Bond is detached, and easy to charm any woman. No stupid laser beams or take over the world plots in this story, Bond goes back to the basics, but still with fast cars and hot women. Great flick, but a thinking mans version of Bond, not like the past Brosnan comedy`s (excluding Goldeneye). Great opening song by Chris Cornell, awesome free running stunts, good dialogue, go see it.
yuck - he`s not sean connery
The movie was definitely not my favourite Bond, but Craig does give an interesting new slant to the definition of Bond. At times the scenes might by described as incoherent and bit boring.
great movie but dragged out some
ok but lost its momentum, poker scenes were to long i was getting bored.
Daniel Craig looked more like the VILLAIN in this movie...kind of reminded me of Robert Shaw who co-starred in one of the earlier Bond movies as the antagonist. I think Ian Fleming wanted the James Bond character to exude confidence, charm, flirtatious virility and smarts...not rage, brute strength, puppy love emotion and almost nil intellect. Daniel Craig and his director missed the mark in a big way. I think the Sean Connery/Clive Owen type character (and possibly the English version of Kevin Spacey/Russell Crowe) was what Ian Fleming had in mind when he created the spy, James Bond - 007.(PeterT)
Awesome movie! It was one of the best James Bond movies ever.
Absolutely fantastic! I`ve seen it 3 times already! Daniel Craig is the PERFECT James Bond. More human than some of the other Bonds. This film makes excellent use of urban freelow at the beginning too - what a chase scene!! I loved everything about this movie, and can`t wait for the next one! Bravo Daniel!!
A refreshing Bond film for the 21st century!!
Worst Bond ever...both Movie and Actor...It was so slow and I was so disappointed at the end. His wrinkles make him look older than Pierce Brosnan so I don`t know why they chose him as the "Younger, hotter James Bond"...small head+Huge muscular body=NOT attractive.
This was a great movie, not quite the spectacle of the Brosnsn movies but much more satisfying in that Bond seemed to be a real person instead of "superspy". And to the below comment about "Ian Flemming rolling over in his grave.", do some fact checking first before saying something like that. Sorry but THIS Bond is Flemming`s Bond. Casino Royale is the most faithfull adaptation of any of the books.
love it! craig was excellent as bond!
Well, the film plot was decent - but Daniel Craig is butt ugly. He is definitely no ROGER MOORE. The love scenes are unromantic - pretty boring. When Craig says his quips, he doesn`t sound as good as Moore or Brosnan. Interesting way to introduce him - hoepfully he will be able to stand out in scenes more like Connery and Moore did. At times, he appeared as minor as Timothy Dalton.
Its sad that some people don`t realize that this was "the begining" and this adventure is what shaped Bond INTO the character that we are accustomed to. I saw this late, but I was pleasantly entertained and surprised. U see why Bond became a womanizer and how he went from arrogant brute to suave. Opening chase sequence was something to behold.
