After escaping the law in a robbery gone bad, William, an outlaw, finds himself at the door of a beautiful single mother, Maria, and in need of help. Maria, having escaped out of the city, where she was abused by an evil and oppressive man, into a new life in the town of Bright Sky, has pity on the desperate stranger.

Maria allows William to take refuge on her small farm in exchange for his help around the farm.
