Seeking a fresh start in life, Hinami (Karina) applies for a part-time job cutting sugarcane on a plantation in Okinawa belonging to Mr. and Mrs. Taira (Saburo Kitamura and Taeko Yoshida). She soon finds herself working with four other young men and women on a remote island under the supervision of the experienced Yutaka (Nao Omori). Their task is to harvest all 70,000 sugar cane plants by the end of March, but the demanding physical labor and Yutaka's leadership soon cause problems. Despite the help of the Taira's former neighbor, doubts about the conflict-ridden group's ability to make the deadline arise, and hope seems lost completely when Yutaka is involved in a car accident. However, they pull together and increase their daily working hours in order to make up for the shortfall and bring the harvest in on time. An ensemble youth drama set in the picturesque Okinawan archipelago from director Tetsuo Shinohara (Inochi, Karaoki Terror). In Japanese with English subtitles.
