In September 1944 in German-occupied Holland, Rachel (
Carice van Houten), a beautiful Jewish woman, joins the Dutch Resistance after a series of events leaves her without home or family. Dying her hair blonde and assuming an Aryan name, Rachel infiltrates the local Gestapo office by bedding its head officer Müntze (
Sebastian Koch). Although Müntze discovers Rachel is Jewish, their relationship continues. Both are soon caught in a web of deceit, as the line between heroes and villains blurs.
