Cornet player and pianist Leon "Bix" Beiderbecke was a naturally gifted musician and a strong and enduring influence on jazz artists. Beiderbecke originally hailed from Iowa, but his renown grew quickly, and before long he was a star on the stage in New York City.
Unfortunately, his alcoholism badly affected his health, and he died in his late 20s. This documentary takes a look behind the legend, interviewing friends and contemporaries such as Hoagy Carmichael and Artie Shaw.
