Thanks to her ex-boyfriend, Angèle has spent the last two years in prison. When she's released, she tries to reconnect with her young son Yohan, whose paternal grandparents now have custody, but the boy refuses to talk to her. Through a personal ad, Angèle meets Tony, a fisherman whose father recently died. At first put off by Angèle's strange behavior, Tony softens towards her and she goes to work with his mother at a quayside stall, selling the fish he catches. He invites her to live with his family in Port-en-Bessin, on the Normandy coast and Angèle finds herself falling for this modest man who decides to help her fight for custody of her son.
