In 1936, following a scandalous divorce that makes all the newspapers, British tennis star Nevile Strange (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) suddenly decides to visit his childhood home at Gull's Point, the coastal estate of his aunt, Lady Tressilian (Anjelica Huston) with his new bride Kay (Mimi Keene) at the same time his ex-wife Audrey (Ella Lily Hyland) will be visiting.
Lady Tressilian and her lady's companion, Mary (Anjan Vasan) have been keeping up on all the news. Lady Tressilian worries about her nephew coming with his ex-wife and his current wife, but there's nothing she can do to stop it. Meanwhile, Mary has secretly been writing another of Lady Tressilian's nephews, hoping he can also come for a visit.
Police Inspector Leech (Matthew Rhys) is going through a personal crisis, but when a murder is committed at Gull's Point, he takes on the mission of solving this crime before there's another death.
