Actor Robert Garrigues and his wife, Julie, travel to Acapulco in 1991 for a one-month stay. While there, the couple meet an individual named Colonel Eternal. However, he's actually Elvis Presley who, after having faking his death in 1977, discreetly withdrew to Mexico.
After returning to Quebec, when Robert hears that the King has died for real, he becomes narcoleptic and destitute. Twelve years later, the ex-actor, who underwent a vasectomy in 1991, takes a DNA test to prove that Elvis is not the father of his young son, Proutt.
And following a vision, he returns to Acapulco to meet Hollywood producer Hank Sturzberg, to convince him to tell the story of his meeting with Presley.
