Jack (
Kris Holden-Ried) is an American photojournalist, who exposes companies that are polluting. After an eight-year absence, he returns to a seaside town that lies on Nova Scotia’s South Shore. He’s here to see his sister Olivia (
Kathryn MacLellan), a single mom who lives an insulated life with her two children, including her teenage son Thomas (
Aaron Webber) who worships Jack. But why is Jack back? Olivia is suspicious, especially when Jack starts asking questions about a newly opened factory that’s providing work for the community. Old wounds -- and new ones -- come bubbling to the surface.
Meanwhile, Jack falls for Olivia’s friend Lia (Lisa Ray), also a single mom. As the romance heats up, Jack begins to question his own actions -- both past and present. But it may be too late to stop Thomas, who is following in Jack’s footsteps.
