Young newlyweds Robert (Mark Umbers) and Meg (Scarlett Johansson) Windermere leave the heat of a New York summer behind to go vacation on the Italian Riviera. Having exhausted her supply of wealthy, married New York men to serve as her meal ticket, Mrs. Stella Erlynne (Helen Hunt) also travels to Europe.
Soon, it appears that the older woman has lured Robert away as her latest conquest. Young, handsome Lord Darlington steps in to console Meg after she finds evidence that Robert has been writing checks made out to Mrs. Erlynne. But things may not be quite as they appear. Inspired by Oscar Wilde's play, Lady Windemere's Fan.
