As he celebrates his 20,000th day on Earth, Nick Cave reflects on creation, recalls his childhood memories and reveals his relationship with religion. When he’s not at the keyboard of his piano, the Australian artist writes novels, poems and songs on his old typewriter. In the evening, he relaxes by watching television with his two young sons. At the wheel of his car, he travels the streets of Brighton Beach, his adopted home in England. Friends, including actor Ray Winstone and singer Kylie Minogue, join him for walks. On the road, he takes the opportunity to stop in for a visit with composer Warren Ellis, his old friend and a member of his band, The Bad Seeds. They recall the highlights of their careers. Between sessions with a psychotherapist, where he talks about his relationship with his father whom he lost at age 19, Cave perform songs from the album "Push the Sky Away" with his musicians.
