"The Phantom of the Opera" became the longest running show in Broadway history in January 2006 when it surpassed the previous record holder "Cats." It has won over 50 major theatre awards, including seven Tonys on Broadway and three Olivier Awards in London's West End. Worldwide, "The Phantom of the Opera" has grossed over $5 billion. The box office revenues are higher than any film or stage play in history, including "Titanic," "ET" and "Star Wars." It has been seen in 145 cities in 27 countries and played to over 100 million people.

This special 25th Anniversary staging by Sir Cameron Mackintosh of Andrew Lloyd Webber's brilliant original Broadway musical, pays special tribute to Phantom of the Opera with a spectacular and unique production that will include a cast and orchestra of over 200. The event will be recorded live from London's Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 2 October for release across Canada on Monday, October 3 with an encore performance on Saturday, October 22.
